You know what i find hilarious?
>devs/games do X thing>/v/ unanimously agrees X is a bad thing and arguesdevs shouldnt be allowed to do X>laws still allow devs to do X>/v/ unanimously mad that videogames aren't taken seriously to the point laws dont consider them at all which leads exactly to devs being able to do X>/v/ unanimously agrees laws should be made to stop all of this>someone makes a petition that WILL, if successfull, solve this and stop devs from doing X>/v/ unanimously agrees this petition is dumb, signing it is dumb, it makes no sense, and shuns any attempt at promoting the petitioni dont get it, it's like you actively want the things you complain about to keep happening
>inb4 /v/ is one guyobviously not, that's why I said unanimously more than once, cause while there's always a few who can see this is a good thing, the general mood and reception this thing got in here is negative
>>714517238>Wouldn't allowing their game to continue to exist in a playable state make it so people CONTINUE to buy the game and thus give them more money?no, cause with these laws and legislations in place, they would only take active action AFTER the devs and publisher STOP supporting the game.
Lets say devs make game X, which is played on their servers.
After a given amount of years, they decide to stop supporting the game, shut the servers, and delist the game on steam and whatever other platform it is on.
With these new laws and legislations in place, if they do this they would be REQUIRED to allow the game to be obtained and played on players supported servers, thus granting them NO MONEY.
If they aren't willing to do it, they MUST keep the game up and the server up.
