Most of BA's setting and lore is intentionally vague and unexplained because the actual worldbuilding isn't really important in the grand sceme of things. BA is a larger than life setting that simply exists as a vehicle to deliver smaller character driven stories which is where BA's real focus is. So to answer why do they have guns, halos and are fighting each other? It doesn't matter. That's the answer. Well actually the last one kind of has an explanation. It's basically what happens when you leave children in charge of running a country so a large part of BA's story is helping these girls who are in way over their heads with responsibility they shouldn't have to bare the burden of being just teenagers.

I think people shitposting BA's Steam release really does expose how much of the shitposting around all gacha games comes from subhumans who dont' actually even play any of them. Everyone who actually plays these games knows that both P5X and Uma are brand new global versions of the game so are boosted by all the people playing it for the first time with loads of new content to go through keeping people playing but BA is literally just a port for the already existing server so most people playing it are people who were already playing it so will continue just logging in once or twice a day for 5-10 minutes before closing the game again.

While I did expect some bigger numbers, I think the delay and releasing AFTER instead of before Umamusume killed a lot of potential momentum. It's a good idea to get as far through the normal missions as you can without worrying about getting a 3* ranking on anything for now. Certain missions give you cafe upgradesm which means more ap generation over time. Mission progression also unlocks a ton of other features in general so it's a good idea to at least progress far enough to unlock most of that stuff. Like the other anons said, at the end of Volume 3 there will be a boss that requires you to use your own students so getting decent team built by then is a good idea.

What am I looking for on the initial rolls beyond girls I like the look of? I reset my account because all I had after the first 10 rerolls was a feral looking 3 star and a load of 2 star dupes of the starting girls. Should have kept the roll with the sleepy girl she was cute.

General advice is don't try to level everyone equally. There are several students that are generally useful and investing in them is a great idea. Keep in mind that a tank student's attack type doesn't really matter. Tsubaki is awesome if you have her, but Yuuka, who you get in the very beginning, is also an amazing tank that will only get better. Serina is a great healer, while Fuuka is deceptively not that great. Having at a character of every attack type built is a good idea, for red i recommend Mutsuki, for yellow Momoi and for blue Chise (don't worry about pink for now, it's way later on and you'll get sHanako from bluefes banner by then). The fact that they are 2* doesn't mean that they're useless. So after you've built a tank and a healer a bit, just look at what armor the enemies in a mission have and slot in a corresponding attacker in the team, the rest of the spots can be filled with whatever, but again, matching attack type is fine.

Nice. Shun is the most important one to get because she's the only one out of the starters that is still not farmable in any way. Hifumi is actually used in endgame raids on bosses that do shitloads of damage because PERORO-SAMA absorbs everything and doesn't give a fuck, should be useful in the beginning too with the prolonged taunt. Serina is a great healer, Kotama is a great general buffer, don't sleep on them despite the low rarity. In the long run you'd want to craft gifts. but for now your first priority is furniture so always pick the flower. Only use 1 crafting stone at a time, don't even think about activating other rings by wasting materials. Slap all the furniture in your cafe until the comfort is maxed and that should boost your ap gain. By going through normal missions you can get cafe upgrades that expand the comfort limit and the ap gain, so focus on that and keep up with maxing the comfort, shouldn't be too hard. Other than that forget crafting even exists until you're higher level, pick your favorite and decide to boost her bond with autistic gift crafting.

Gifts are the most important thing you can get from crafting since at one point you'll have so much furniture you won't even know where to place it, not that there's much point to it since comfort has a limit.
Each student likes/loves specific gifts, so you need as many gifts as possible so you can merge them into the favorite gift of the student you're trying to build a bond with. Just look at how many fucking gifts you need to get a lv50 bond with a single student.
Getting XP reports is cool as long as they're pink, but you'll mostly get them from event shops and commissions. It's not something you should focus on when crafting.
As a new player, raising bond is important because certain starter units massively improve upon getting their "bond gear", which requires having a lv20 bond with them. This bond gear does all sort of crazy shit like making Yuuka the best dodge tank in the entire game.

Yeah. The next banner (the thing you roll on) coming on Tuesday gives you free rolls. 10/20 per day, for a week, for a total of 100. This is something that happens around every anniversary/half-anniversary banner. When you roll on a banner, you get points for all currently active banners. Once you hit 200 points (so, 200 rolls) you can pick one of the featured students as a guaranteed units. Those points reset whenever a new banner comes around, so if you really want to be sure that you will absolutely get a particular character, you shouldn't roll until you have 24000 pyros (the amount required for 200 rolls).

Unless you are dead-set on getting a particular upcoming unit, yeah. The featured units are really good, Neru is among the best yellow single target attackers, while Rio is basically Rubick as a girl. In addition to that, the rate for 3* units is doubled, and most of them will be at least somewhat useful for you, even if they aren't the greatest.
This game doesn't really feature meta hyper-autism like other gacha games. The difference between getting the second-highest and the highest reward tier is pretty low here. Like, one or two guaranteed characters once every 5 years. This is nothing. And getting the second-highest reward tier is pretty easy once you reach max level.

Yep, you got everything right. If you've progressed until at least mission 4, Grand assault should be unlocked, where you can tackle a boss battle and get another 10-roll ticket, which has an expiration date. If you've joined a club, you should be able to borrow a maxed-out character who will carry the entire thing for you on lower difficulties. Just make sure to try it in "mock battle" to make sure it works before spending a ticket. Borrow Dress Hina for red armor, Mika for yellow armor and Wakamo for blue, all on HARDCORE difficulty. Make sure they're lvl 90, their star rank is BLUE and their skills are maxed, I just ran all three as a test with those students and a team of lvl 1s and it works. Just keep using the borrowed student's EX skill and you win. Then sweep all the bosses using all the tickets you have and keep sweeping every day as you're given new tickets. Claim the rewards for accumulated score and on tuesday after the rankings are finalized you'll be able to get a 10-roll ticket along with a bunch of other stuff regardless of the rank you get.

Recommended levels are deceptive, the ones on missions are overshot by 20 while the ones on endgame content are severely lower thaan actually required. In general, scrimmage is too early to tackle as a new player and the rewards are used for a mechanic that you're not gonna be dealing with for a while.
