While I fully expect to end up wrong, the barely-there trend of some secret bosses being proper fights against pseudo Undertale characters that didn’t get one (Mettaton NEO, Gerson) makes me think a fight against “Flowey” (no super form) or Asgore (actually trying) is a reasonable candidate for the secret boss. My best guess would be that the purpose of the closet is to hide in there when you create the fountain. So that you can trap people in the dark world in the neighbouring room. That theory has two problems:
