In Undertale, it made sense why Toriel liked Sans and didn't like Asgore anymore. In Deltarune, we have no idea what Asgore did that made Toriel hate him. And there's no indication from Kris that he or Asriel doesn't like Asgore or don't want him in their life anymore. It's just Toriel. Sans is also a dick to Kris in Deltarune whereas he was largely an ally to Fisk in Undertale.

I made the joke in another thread that, as a result of my fuckup, the canonical motive for the Raging Angel was that Kris pranked Noelle by gluing all her furniture to the ceiling. As I was fixing the gif, I also noticed Kris must have taken the time to remove her vent, spackle it shut, and paint over where it used to be. Tricksy little apple gremlin is truly dedicated to the art of the prank.

Well, he could have killed one child, taken their soul, crossed the barrier and killed 6 other humans to become god and shatter the barrier. But doing so would almost certainly ignite another war, and there could have been much more collateral killings in the process of obtaining the souls. Maybe he didn't want that? The prophecy is being put back together in Snowgrave. It's accomodated for in the prophecy- it's the evil route of Dragon Blazers. A dark side of the script, but still the script. When you break off from the path (represented by the hospital bead) you are not breaking to a better outcome.

I don't think that's an accurate assessment of monsters' feelings on the matter, at least not until the player's character completes their journey across the underground. They have a grudge, given that their retelling of Asriel's death is framed as humans yet again taking everything from them. Outside of that, they mostly just express hope that they will be freed after the seventh souls is obtained and the barrier is shattered. It's also very likely, that when the player's character lands in the underground, the monsters are ready to move past their feelings of being wronged with a little push, clearly indicated by the fact, that this is exactly what they do, if the player consistently shows them mercy. Given that, I would say that Asgore's adopted strategy is sound. Of course, there's a wrench thrown in with the whole determination, Flowey's shenanigans, etc., but from Asgore's point of view, such things wouldn't even cross his mind as possible, so it wouldn't be reasonable to account for them.
