Earthbound was one of the least popular RPGs when it released. It did absolutely horribly in the west, and even in Japan it only did "ok". Franchises like Dragon Quest and Final Fantasy were selling exponentially more than Earthbound did. If someone made an RPG Maker game

The only reason why Earthbound gets any attention at all nowadays is because there was some strange time in the mid 2010's where hipsters claimed that their games were based on Earthbound, and people thought that was cool only because they recognized the characters in Smash Bros. If an RPG Maker game wasn't made specifically with that "We're Earthbound inspired" title in mind, then it'd make far more sense to claim that it's Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest inspired, especially if it's a Japanese RPG Maker game.

I don't think anyone really remembers the loops, Kris has definitely looped at least once considering he had his own savefile.
It seems whatever summoned us into the world has put the burden of looping into us, either trapping themselves until we find a way a fix things, or because we were needed in the first place and we weren't there.

The idea with Snoriel was the same as with Suselle - we feared that it would happen, but hoped it won't. This kicked off a series of events where Kris and Noelle would try to be heroes in the dark worlds, but Susie would try to side with the bad guy and be the recurring minor antagonist. Noelle's thirst was a running problem, and culminated in Susie being able to manipulate her, triggering events that led to that time loop being doomed.

So for the second loop, Noelle was cut from the team completely. Susie was recruited from the start to prevent her from being an antagonist. But what simple change could've caused this to happen? In the first time loop, the reason why Noelle formed a three-student team with Kris and Susie is because Berdly was teamed with Temmie. In the current timeline, Berdly formed a team with Noelle because Temmie already had a partner?
