the base game is very fine, it's free too. Now the problem here is alot of people going in expecting interesting game modes like the PvPvE extraction, but what they got was sessions that are tedious, unfun, unbalanced. Everything related to that mode is designed to make it not fun and grindy. There's no PVE either.

I had a reasonable amount of fun getting up to general rank (silver in real terms), at which point you only get matched against premade stacks while you get 5 randoms who will refuse to pick meta units that are required to win. The customisation stuff was trivial to farm, I made 12k and bought every outfit in the game by flipping shit on the market while waiting for my queue to pop.

The real issue with the game is that the comp meta is completely unfun, and players can't just play unranked because you get no progression for it.

Why is it so hard for any dev to make a fully customizable mecha game where American Mech Warrior style and Japanese Mobile Suit style mechs can live in harmony? Preferably where combat damage and maintaining repairs is actually important, perhapse like EVE. All these fucking games are just character shooters with a mech coat of paint.

The problem isn't the bots. I see that now that I'm out of the bot ranks, it's the absolute garbage balancing and unfun design. You pick a healer, or you lose. Your healer gets focused down by the enemy first, you lose. Your aquila is worse than their aquila? You lose. Your welkin is worse than theirs? Again, you lose.

The meta is stale faggotry and the first open beta was MILES better than this, because mechs died quickly and healers were near useless. Now you can mash on a guy for 20 seconds and then a healer flies in and invalidates your effort. They reduced energy across the board to buff heavies who didn't need a fucking buff.

It's a necessary evil for modern MP slop, EOMM is the devil but you can't make a F2P game without it, your playerbase would be driven off in their first match with prior beta players. The problem isn't the bots. The problem is dogshit balance by retarded chinks, and what's sad is that this is the best this game is ever going to be. if you thought you were owning hard and running the lobby you were probably playing against bots. they used to be easy to identify by looking at their player ID numbers but i think they obfuscated it further now and made their profiles seem like real players better.
funny thing to think about is if you get into an all-bot match and the game decides your bots are just worse than the other team's bots for no reason is the game actually just deciding you should lose that game. i don't even know why bot matches aren't rigged so the team with an actual player on it always wins.

The best Gundam designs are actually those that look like they underwent a evolution of technical marvel and are still somewhat grounded. The prime example is the Zaku.
Even if you don't like basic grunt mechs you should realize, those make more flashy designs (e.g. RX-78) stand out even more. If every design is overly cool none is.

It's the same way when artists draw sexy girls, you can only make tits so big before most people can't associate with it anymore.

Frame Gride, but each kingdom faction had its own variety of mechas. You have a mass produced mechs like the one in front mission, limited and grounded in mobility but excels in numbers since it is more manage-able to produce.
You have mechas like gundam who can fly at high speed and can do beam spam, a higher tier more advanced than the front mission mechas ones.
Then there's the even more advanced ones, mechas that literally a super robot tier that either comes from ancient civilizations or an aliens with their even more advanced technologies.

It plays like Saturn's gundam blue destiny.

Bots are by far the biggest issue with the game right now.
Wouldn't be surprised if the highest churn rate came from people getting blown the fuck out by bots working perfectly as a team with inhuman reflexes and parry recovery rates that are way lower than players.

I only play pvp 6v6 and the only thing you can buy with paid currency is cosmetics. There's also a pretty robust in-game economy. One of my friends (actual unironic jew) started with crates you can buy with free currency and flipped shit on the marketplace until he made $200 USD in-game currency without spending a dime.

In that sense it reminds me of TF2, which I like, because I used to be a huge TF2 autist. I just wish there weren't bots, I love big fat robots. Pic is my 2 highest playtime games on steam.

If I play luminae am I supposed to hide and healbot? I usually heal a good amt but also like to chase low health people and harass snipers, fliers, and other supports when I have my wings but I had a teammate tell me I should stay back and not do much fighting. Yeah if I was playing teams that were punishing doing that I would play more defensively but I guess my question is more am I supposed to sit back and make sure all my teammates have 24/7 healing rather than do any offense at all. The mechs are fully customizable, but have no personality of their own by being completely interchangeable.
>Path B
The plot is focused so much on the pilots that the mechs are just there. The mechs may be well designed extensions of the character, but they are glorified power armor.

Then there is secret path C, where you have extremely mechanized characters, but thats just making a robot game, even if they are as clunky as mechs.

AT's were fantastic, it's quite possibly the only mililtary focused mecha show along with Dougram where they were portrayed as more or less applicable military weapons platforms instead of bullshitium protagonist superweapons that still required combined arms operations and infantry support to function effectively and like most limited use combat vehicles had to be deployed via transport/aerial insertion. Votoms and Dougram pretty much ruined mecha for me, it's impossible to take any other mech show seriously after watching those.
