They say it was ready to go, Krafton says it wasn't and needed to be delayed till next year and wouldn't let them release it this year. You need to remember that the first early access version of subnautica was ROUGH. It ran like shit, looked like shit, and had next to no content. The original devs idea of "ready for early access" might be seen as an alpha for other games. If they tried to do the same with Sub2 then I'm not surprised it got vetoed.

All the devs would have to do is leak the version they said was ready to the public to prove they're not lying.

Subnautica is good, yes. It's fun to explore and build your base, and there's vehicles too. Before the shitty sequel released it was pretty much universally beloved here, it gained a hatebase later on.
