This monkey was hard to find as well, though it is right next to the end part of the Ingot Isle section. If we ignore the Cranky stuff like some people say, then this one automatically isn't an issue since then the Country games could take place anytime. Sports and Kart spin-offs not counting, as they pull from all around the timeline as it is, anyway (and Baby Rosalina doesn't make a damn lick of sense in any way).

No sign of Mario, no allusion to why Donkey Kong would kidnap Pauline as an adult instead of being her friend if he's apparentley not a super low IQ monster which has every implication of being what becomes New Donk City. In fact, Pauline says she wants to become the mayor of the city to make a new law that children don't have to do things they don't want to do and when she does she'll rename it after Donkey Kong who is so nice and cool.

Alright, from what I heard, K Rool is sort of not in the game, Void Kong basically transform into a more muscular reptile form for the final boss by absorbing all the banandium with the help of forcing Pauline to sing. Form reminds him a mix of spike from Gremlins and Frieza's second form. DK helps free her from his control and then gets a confidence boost and transforms into a magical girl like idol and uses her singing to transform DK into a more powerful Bananza form and them have a DBZ fight in the core. The atmosphere is like Namek with storm clouds, earthquakes and lightning everywhere.

No sign of K Rool unless he's like a secret boss. Sorry I guess, said the game was fantastic and the climax is one of Nintendo's best final bosses.

Krool was benched for a while because his design didn't fit the mario-mandate era of inoffensive designs, just look at Returns. Lady and Jumpman may have been separate characters, but Odyssey bent over backwards to eventually retcon them as Pauline and Mario. Sakurai isn't a Nintendo employee, nor is his company owned by Nintendo. The studios that he's worked with, Namco and HAL, to develop Smash aren't owned by Nintendo. They simply publish the series.

K. Rool was added to Smash because Sakurai asked Nintendo, and there was no reason to deny any character requests for things they own. Sakurai is the man who got fucking Banjo and Sora in Smash, he has legit pull in the industry.
