the more the game progreses, the more and more I feel that light world Kris and dark world Kris really are different characters entirely and it's not just 'for fun' that light world Kris wears Chara's shirt while dark world Kris uses Frisk's shirt as a cape. All kinds of scenes like this, dialogue like 'park your butt mister' and the automatic hug at the end of ch4, and overall just a crazy amount of positive, even lovey-dovey interactions with Ralsei, whereas light world Kris is such an asshole, absolutely every single pinch of info we get about them is that they are an absolute gremlinoid freak who has never existed for any purpose other than to torment people and cause chaos, whose obsession with Susie is much more prominent and displayed in the Light World, who tears us out and beats us up and acts like a fucked up imp at any opportunity no matter HOW we act to them or try to earn their trust or "only say what they would say in that situation" in the dark world. Also it feels like our opportunities to say or do much or act in any way are limited in the light world compared to dark, and some of the few things we *can* do like throw away the ball of junk has Kris acting like they're going to fucking die if they do it whereas darkworld Kris wouldn't bat an eye at us throwing away every single item that comprises it one after the other.

Idk what Toby's coking with all that or how it could possibly lead to a satisfying conclusion to Kris as an overall character but he's not let me down before, so I'll let him continue.

there's been a ton of really weirdly coincidental ways recent One Piece has felt like it's mirrored some aspects of Deltarune beyond the latter just being so heavily on my brain lately, most of which is directly tied with this new character named Loki that, for example, was born with little devil horns and 'evil eyes' everyone hates him for and has him hide, and was treated so inhumanely that he utterly gave up on the entire concept on love from a very young age, all very Kris-like to me -- but beyond that, the latest chapter showed that despite feeling and being MADE to feel so alien and 'other' to his own people, he has sone thing going for him, one thing they treat him well about and respect him for, his pure royal blood. So whenever he sees his half-brother, technically also a prince, all he can do is lash out that he's a mud-blood and his mother's bloodline is filthy, and attacks him if he tries to confront him. The prince-hood and pure royal blood is *ALL* he has, the ONLY thing giving him ANY worth in this world, and anything that threatens to take even THAT away from him can go straight to hell..
I think that's Kris with the piano. Even if we suck, Kris doesn't want us to play it much, and when we're forced to do so for a longer stretch during the grand piano long song puzzle the lil dude spazzes out and "shows us how it's done".

So continuing from the previous thread, I think I FINALLY realized what it is about Kris apparently not stopping us from doing Snowgrave that bothers me, and it might be for an unorthodox reason.

Unless Kris is actually THAT suicidal deep down (and in such a way that's very barely shown in-game, I can only think about that one dialogue choice with Queen in Chapter 2 where Susie asks why Kris sounds so excited when you select "Perish"), I can't really buy the idea that Kris is actually just allowing us to embark on a route that is very clearly going to result in him suffering some kind of personality death, physical death, or even some significantly worse existential kind of death; "You were used up" and all. Shit's not looking good for the little blue bastard at all as we continue down the route.

And I'm not saying that Kris unanimously hates it, assuming ERAM isn't an unreliable narrator, but a small part of him enjoying the violence (whether it's because of the feeling of gaining some kind of control over his shitty life back, because Berdly is actually just that fucking annoying, etc.) sounds different than "Yeah, I actually allow the route that is going to fucking destroy me six ways from Sunday.", especially given that the fact that ERAM has dialogue specifically for when you've done Weird Route in Chapter 2 that makes it clear that Kris should KNOW that he's getting put on the chopping block soon.
