That might be because it's actually suspending to ram, which is what you most probably want on a desktop, in the handheld is probably using S0 sleep which has the cpu still active, if you use this state on a desktop, the fans will be always on 100% of the time and it will consume tons of electricity.
I personally don't have a deck, so I don't know what that is about, but if it's S3 sleep it works somewhat like S0, but you might have configured hibernation by mistake.

Out of curiosity, which ones emulate well? I'll probably download backup copies of the few first party Switch games I actually enjoy (Luigi's Mansion 3, Kirby & The Forgotten Land, Metroid Dread, Super Mario Odyssey) along with others that might be amusing for one reason or another (Metroid Prime because I'm not buying a remake; Pokemon games because mods might make them less than worthless at some point). Anything, in particular, worth emulating on Deck or otherwise?
