It's fine. It's not that serious. I genuinely don't understand why it produces so much seething rage and am forced to conclude that this is primarily motivated by "muh self-insert Kris ship" impotent cuck rage and just generally hating women/lesbians.
I don't think it's "going to happen" more than I think any other ship is going to happen, I don't expect any one ship to be official by the end of the story.
Chapter 4 seems to be pushing the angle that Noelle might be insecure about how close Kris and Susie have gotten, which would be an interesting direction to take things in Chapter 5, especially if Noelle is involved with more than just the festival and actually joins our party in the Dark World again.
If I had to criticize it I would say that it's definitely more mundane and shallow than what Susie has going on with Kris and Ralsei, and unlike with those relationships it's also not really clear what Susie "gets" out of it, how it builds her character. If I was really stretching I'd say maybe she's helping Noelle build her confidence but that is a stretch. I don't think this is a big problem though, it still serves the story just to give Susie someone to talk to who can be normal and honest and speak without ulterior motives because she's not neck-deep in a supernatural conspiracy.

UTY sure has its rough spots, but I'm willing to be more forgiving since it was an amateur, non comercial project. I feel some proofreading from people outside the project and another year on production would have fixed a lot of stuff.

I think the issue is twofold. Because the two kinds I can do this with are the tiny overworld sprites and the big but monochrome battle sprites. This is for an Undertale fangame, so I have to stick to that split. The overworld I can maybe do without, but the battle needs to have him be revealed as this dead man walking. I actually like noelle a lot, my issue with the romance shit is that noelle loses a lot of personality and is entirely fixated on susie when susie is around, and susie is less interesting when interacting with noelle.
