It is on its 3rd season of its TV run, lmao. The follow up was a live service game that Sony ended up scrapping due to Bungee saying there was no way to properly monetize it. They were literally developing another game as they developed Intergalactic or whatever the name of their gay lesbian bald head woman game is. Sounds like the franchise is doing just fine when it was Sony's inability to make live service games that killed their latest attempt.

No one knows what Santa Monica is doing next. GoW got picked up for a TV series though. Sony themselves called the series a great success and one of the cornerstones of their platform.
There was also, AGAIN, a multiplayer focused GoW game in development that Sony scrapped due to the realities of the live service industry becoming increasingly grim for them.

So you admit it sold well? Licensing fees are a bitch, they increased dramatically between the first and second game. They already made 3 games (if you could the Miles Morales game which was released standalone) and are now making a Wolverine game. I find it hard to see how releasing 3 successful games is a bad sign lmao.
So, yeah. None of what you said is true. All of these series are doing just fine and are, at most, on a small break because Sony doesn't want the studios being pigeonholed into making one game. Even then, they're so successful they're getting TV series, multiplayer spin offs, or other media made after them to keep them relevant between releases.
All you're seeing is Sony's attempts at transitioning to a predominantly live service model blow up in their face as they tried to force their best studios and IPs to do it. Within 3-4 years all of these games will have new entries announced.
