Plus Asriel became completely devoid of empathy or care for anybody after turning into Flowey. I mean, yeah, if Flowey was trying to kill Sans in a given timeline, then it stands to reason that he'd get his shit pushed in a lot by Sans, before managing to kill him. But Flowey also explicitly states that he became friends with everybody in some of his timelines, and that would include Sans too. And I'm not convinced Sans would be a dick to Flowey out of the gate, given the way he interacts with other monsters. Plus Sans was only suspicious of Flowey in Frisk's timelines, because he found it odd that there was a flower saying nice things to Papyrus, and he was suspecting someone was playing a trick on him with an echo flower. Sans wouldn't have these suspicions to inform all of his interactions with Flowey in Flowey's timelines, because Flowey's first save point was before ever interacting with any monster in his flower form.

No, it might just seem to you to be this way, because you're reading too much into inconclusive evidence. That's why I said there's no good evidence. This doesn't mean that there isn't any evidence. Now, this doesn't mean that more conclusive things won't come to light in future chapters, just that for the time being such a belief isn't well-founded. Also, Toby does indeed do a lot of things for the lols. Not everything that happens is integral to the unfolding plot, and many events and characters are in the game to provide levity.

From the plot's perspective, it might just be that Sans doesn't serve a gracious role in this specific story. Sans could have his own reasons for doing things, but doing them puts him in conflict with Kris. I don't see that as being necessarily bad. It would depend on the execution. But we'll see. Maybe it will turn out to be more gracious.

What is the purpose of humans existing in Deltarune? There is no theme of sensless war and violence between humans and monsters, so Toby could had just established Kris as a goat kid and just make it so that SOUL can enter any monster who participated in some kind of ritual.

If SOUL is specified only for humans, then that means the prophecy is either bad for monsters and good for humans or bad for humans and good for monsters. However so far the story only makes distinction between Darkners and Lightners and not really focusing on humans as separate caste different from monsters

I think Kris is human because they're our self-insert that isn't a self-insert. They're brought closer to us by being a somewhat default human in monster world so that the moments in which his individuality is demonstrated leave a stronger impression; they emphasize the strangeness of our controlling and embodying this person.
