Basically you can see the race performance by fast-forwarding. If you're playing a late-surger for example, there's a lot going on with positioning in the middle of the pack.

It works fine. It's actually the meta if you're just trying to build the highest scoring horse you can.

Depends on the track length. Sprint/Mile wants 4SPD 2PWR decks with stamina parents or 4SPD 2ST decks with power parents. Medium wants 4SPD 2ST decks with power parents, and Long wants 4ST 2SP decks with power parents. All of this varies depending on the sparks you have and how good your cards are. For example, 9* speed parents are still useful because you can replace 1 or 2 speed cards with power or stamina ones.
