The truth is that this started at the second half of Endwalker. Then the 6.0 patches just dragged it down more. 7.0 was the culmination of all that.

And even though 7.0 has the best trails in the series, the job design is still pancakes, dungeons are pointless, and the story has become abysmal.

Ok I'll give you more context on the Dungeons, so YoshiP gave an interview to PreachGaming at the European media tour before Dawntrail launched and that's when the question arose about the Dungeons.
Preach asked can they change the mobs, maybe more mob packs or having more bosses or fewer bosses and YoshiPs answer was to explain that he has designed something called a 'package system' for content and the way they design dungeons is set to this 'Dungeon package specification' which is why a Dungeon is two mobs wall, two mobs boss, two mobs wall, two mobs boss e.t.c.
This to YoshiP is to minmax the process of content but, as pointed out by other people in these threads before with this process they are producing a single dungeon per patch whereas in 2.x 3.x and 4.x the patches were 3months-3months 2weeks and were able to produce 2 dungeons per patch along with the dungeons being slightly different from each other than simply what they are now which feels like copy paste.

I quit dawntrail after the baby cave reveal, which means to clear the MSQ to date I'm looking at like 50 fucking hours of shit just to CATCH UP. This also assumes the new expansion will even be worth catching up for, which there is zero proof of.

If they're going to have a 2min buff meta then they need to get rid of all raid buffs except for token supports like DNC and RDM. Locking everything down at the 2min window is boring as fuck and it's stagnating fight design because 90% of the actual mechanics occur at the 2/4/6/8min marks now.

For one, the game needs to be fun to play at a basic level, so that all content becomes fun content. That means dropping the retarded sterile raidshitter design that's completely obsessed with balance more than fun. Why is a third party parsing high score site the deciding fucking factor of this game's design? They have to let it go. Because if they don't, the game is only fun for very brief periods after patches when everything is still new. And that makes people want to log in and just play the game for the sake of the game.
The second thing I can think of is that they need to stop abandoning content. Keep things relevant, allow your character to grow in some way even at level 100 by going and completing PotD for example. I have ideas for that but I'm not going to autism out and write fanfiction. Whatever they do, they have to keep content from just falling into the dustbin of history. There's so much potential stuff to do in this game but there's really very little reason to do the vast majority of it. So if they can't pump out content at the rate of a gacha (and they can't) then they have to use what they already have. Cycling unreals weekly would be a start. Maybe a savage raid unreal too, so people can experience old content as it was meant to be.

The veneer holding back the criticism has always been the MSQ and now that the MSQ is shit and has been on the decline after EW launch is only making people more aware of the glaring issues. All it takes is one crack to allow the game's issues to come flooding out to the general pop's eyes. Well, in the end, she's not wrong.
What I took from Zoraal Ja (even through the clumsy writing) is that he is like a gaping void.
He wanted to live up to his father's expectations, so he wanted to succeed him as Dawnservant. Never really understood what was needed of him beyond raw strength, so he lost to Wukkie (I would go insane, too).
But even before that, he was just fundamentally broken. A hollow puppet. He was brought up with the idea that he was special, that he was one of a kind. And he was, but it never manifested in a tangible way for him. He was discontent no matter what, even as a leader of the Landsguard with various achievements to his name. He's chasing something, but he doesn't know what it is. And he lashes out wildly because he thinks it might give him the fulfillment he craves but fundamentally can never attain.
He wants to be Dawnservant solely because he thinks taking his father's throne will make him whole.
When Wuk wins, it drives him crazy because it basically puts a big roadblock in the way. So instead he tries to LARP as a Dawnservant/King of Alexandria as a stand-in.
Then out of sheer frustration, he decides he doesn't need his father's validation at all, so he kills his father, proving that his father's opinion doesn't even matter because his father is inferior anyway.
But that doesn't fill the hole in his soul either, so he moves on to trying to kill Wuk and Koana, because his father saw them as the rightful successors, so surely if he kills them, that proves that his father was wrong and he was the better successor all along.
He's constantly chasing something that doesn't exist. He desires to feel as if he belongs to the world, but nothing he does and nothing anyone says to him can bring that to him because he is broken. He just jumps from one goalpost to the next hoping it'll finally complete him.

Zenos feels like this world isn't right, as if he doesn't belong. He doesn't understand people and finds most of them trite and boring, so he decides that all that matters to him is just having fun in his own way.
He's the sad sack version Zenos. Zenos revels in it, Zoraal Ja mopes about it and despairs over his inability to belong.

It was shit writing, so I'm not going to flatter it by saying that they handled it right, but if I were the writers, I'd argue that Krile's fear is more from the fact that she would be able to sense that the man is an insatiable, unquenchable void that will do anything to chase a carrot on a stick that doesn't exist. He's basically a psycho in that he probably has the potential to murder countless people just to chase an ever moving goalpost.
