There's several times in the book where Harry would mention a common muggle thing and people would be like "wtf are you talking about?" So a majority probably don't even know what a gun is.
The ones that do know probably just consider them inconvenient or inferior, and they kind of are. A gun can kill, yeah, but a wand can do a bunch of other stuff on top of also being able to kill. The only thing a gun has over magic is speed, since with spells there's times where people have time to react and cast a counterspell or dodge after their opponent has already fired a spell at them. So at best a gun would just be useful as a surprise attack.

There is no reason you should care about it, or have any expectations. It wasn't a series anyone wanted to make because they wanted to faithfully retell the story, it was one of Zaslav's first directives when he took over. He saw billion dollar IPs they were "ignoring" and to boost value of their streaming service he wanted a 10 year series re-adapting the books.
And as someone who has read the books, and thinks they're a trashy guilty pleasure, the movies didn't really cut that much from the books, and usually what they did cut was usually fluff and side characters there for color.
The harry potter series don't need a long running tv series, it needed something like the lord of the rings extended versions which would have been impractical considering how the movies were being churned out.

His sacrifice is enough to create the same protective enchantment over all the people at hogwarts, so when he figures out whats happening, and springs back to life, the people at hogwarts rally while his own forces crumble.
In the book the final showdown with voldemort is the two of them circling in the great hall where harry explains the entire keikaku to him, and why dumbledore couldn't explain the plan to anyone because if they suspected the long game the choices they made wouldn't have the same meaning, and wouldn't work.
You can't selflessly sacrifice yourself if you know you're going to be OK in the end.

Of all the characters to make black, Snape was the worst choice by far.
They could have made Hagrid black and he'd just be a cool ass giganigga. They could have made Hermione black and you could work in the whole magical racism for being a mud blood thing where she's getting racism'd by two different communities for tomorrow different things to make it hit harder. They could have made Dumbledore black and given him a James Earl Jones vibe so he's strong and mysterious.
