It's been some time now, plenty of big videos out there. Anything that had to be said about the game was already covered. There's speedruns of the game done live on stream that show a complex level of world manipulation to reach DIS in like 20 minutes. The cat has been out of the bag for a while now.

The experience of playing Void Stranger when no one had even reached the first locust ending, figuring out each of the secrets slowly, no datamine involved and the threads with actual community effort have been the best of their kind in years. Greetings to that anon that reached Lily and completed it without items because they didn't want to risk resetting back to Grey, to the anons that slowly deduced the tail puzzle and everyone else. Figuring out the Cube puzzle was my small but important contribution to the threads. The craze started with a thread baiting people with the snake boobs interaction but the general ambience of the game was so amazing that a lot stayed past the bait.

I kept doing each stage over and over until I could get through them somewhat consistently. Lillie's ending focuses on the human elements of the story, and gives closure to the characters. The DIS ending feels less personal but gives greater insight into the sci-fi worldbuilding. Stephen's Sausage Roll just has like a handful of moments where it throws you off the deep end and you get extremely intimidated because it LOOKS absolutely ridiculous.
Like the infamous Tower - it's actually not very difficult or complicated at all, it just looks like that because you've never had to deal with more than like 2 sausages at once, much less ones that are stacked ontop of each other.
The game overall isn't actually that bullshit difficult, I'd say VS Hard/EX are more challenging, it just LOOKS intimidating as fuck and makes your brain shut down before you even really give it a chance.

I'd recommend Bunburrows if you are looking for some other games by the way. The mechanics are really cool and a lot of the puzzles and progression very cleverly designed.

It's obviously the same world and narrative, events in ZR influence events in VS.
That doesn't mean every character has to be in both games. There are similar themes and some of the void lords are obviously inspired by pilots, but that doesn't mean they have any real tangible connection.
