Invasions are shit dude, and have been since Dark Souls 2 where Fromsoft pandered to normalfags who get to summon with no downside since invaders are now mandated to be at a severe disadvantage at all times.

Dark Souls 1 had the best invasions since being invaded was a penalty to offset the benefit of summoning. Now you can summon and win against anyone most of the time with zero consequence since you have more health/resources. The glory days of Dark Souls 1/Demons Souls PVP are long gone alongside the community.

I started with 3 and loved every second of it. Beat it multiple times.
Picked up Elden Ring on sale and while I'm enjoying it, something is amiss. I don't mind the open world, but it seems less rewarding in terms of both gear and satisfaction.
I've restarted several builds because they just don't feel very fun, and the droprate makes combat stale when I can't experiment as much as I'd like to.
