The only annoying part of the Genocide route is actually the fact it takes long to actually FIND encounters. I get the whole reason why enemy encounters will have "But Nobody Came" but it is very tedious to get the kill count required to continue when you run into multiple instances of encounters just to find nothing.

The fangame Undertale Yellow somewhat fixes this by giving each specific room a certain amount of enemies to clear before moving on.
I don't see any reason why Undertale can't get a patch for the 10 year anniversary that includes quality of life features like that.

1.2 only has minor fixes and I had no issue with 1.1
I would assume the experimental build wouldn't have introduced game breaking bugs but you wouldn't be missing much beyond a fix for a few typos and performance upgrades for lower end hardware.

Genocide route is fun on the gameplay side because it hosts the two hardest fights in the whole game. People play the route solely to fight Sans.
Now, story wise, sure. It's a bit lacking, but it's supposed to be the other side of the coin from the pacifist or neutral route. It's not an evil route you take the first time around.
