Women are innately authoritarian and single women treat the state like a husband. If they see something as bad, they don't want anyone to have it and they'll sleep with the most dangerous men to convince them to threaten everyone else into following along with their safe and secure dystopian worldview. They're basically overbearing mothers, except they don't have kids so they mother the people instead.
And this kind of behavior makes some sense when it comes to raising children. We like to pretend every human is equally valuable, but everyone knows that isn't true, and so the uncomfortable truth is that it's sometimes better to just let people fail or even die if they're a walking nuisance to everyone around them. But mothers aren't supposed to think that way. For one, women are designed to believe their children will grow up into whatever adults they mold them to be (they do not, but natural selection causes too many rational women to let their kids die). But what's more, children are dumb and helpless and stupendously dependent on adults to take care of them. If you let children do whatever they want, they'll kill themselves, so mothers have to be authoritarian. This hopefully balances itself out with a father who encourages independence, teaches their kids their strengths and weaknesses, has confidence in them and can physically bail them out when they step over the line.
But you can't act this way with adults, you just stifle progress. In order for progress to happen, you need people to have the freedom to make mistakes. Someone who doesn't make mistakes, never learns. Women want the entire world to have bumpers and this is why every society that gives women equal rights ends up collapsing in like seven generations.
