I would disagree, there was actual effort put into it. Destructive Creations never put out rushed asset flips or anything, but their games are janky. Warmongrels is a game that i wished i loved for example, but the jank holds it back at the same time. It's with the example of Hatred is that it gets repetitive and lacks variety. Not to mention has some kind of insane difficulty spikes that don't always feel fair. The military base might be one of the most infuriating levels because you get killed from off screen a lot of the time. I think it had the potential to be better if there had been more differentiation in the games structure, the actual main premise of the game is fun. They just couldn't get more creative with it.

House Party has some funny interactions and pretty hilarious dialogue depending on the options you pick, but unless you buy the explicit pack for like $3 it's like you only have half the game. Half the fun is just exposing yourself and getting yelled at, pissing or masturbating everywhere and seeing the room clear out, and actually building up to the sex scenes. It's got an insane amount of interconnecting dialogue choices or decisions that affect other characters and actively require you to do stuff in certain timeframes but it's also very quicksave heavy, and the sex scenes take an eternity to reach. It's also very unintuitive where some of the items are like the gin for the pissy hacker chick with the choker.

I think my main criticism for it is how some characters seem to say one thing but only accept another dialogue branch. Simple example is messing with the host's sister but then joking about it with her, or doing something simple like asking any person who is your "Great friend" who is "Interested" for their phone number or anything more than just standing around talking. It's like a coin toss if you get put on their shit list or not, but then for other characters like Frank you can just repeatedly lie to their face over and over or get Richard I think his name was beaten up and punched half to death with no consequence. Then there's random dialogue options like "Okay, please tell me about your art room" that turns into "Do you want to be my nude model?" into immediately getting on your friend's shit list when you've spoken to him one time.

There's also some fairly complicated stuff like stealing a phone, not giving it back to the girl, talking to a bunch of people to find out she hates some chick, and then speaking to the choker chick to clone her phone to call this chick and frame her as having invited said chick so you can bang her.
