Hey remember when everyone was crying because Yakumo's big blood blade would one shot everything and you could just facetank all the damage with no risk on the hardest difficulty? I wonder if we're going to see the same complaints.

You niggers make a big deal out of enemy aggression, but thats not the only thing that makes NGB absolute kino. the difficulty progression is nearly perfect. Starts off brutally hard until you master the controls, then the game starts introducing enemies half-way that really fuck your ass and force you to an entirely new higher level of skill. It's literally the best action game ever made in terms of the progression you go through as a player. Also add on the absolute gorgeous and understated world design, where everything is realistic but just slightly other-worldly and surreal, almost like Myst or something. There is no game like it at all. This new NG just looks like more japslop that completely misses the nuance of the original. Its like comparing RE6 to RE4.

After watching that 1 hour gameplay video it seems like the yellow slowdown only happens when your health gets around ~30%; any lower and starts flashing red. A bit annoying, but admittedly it seems one of those nitpicks that you might eventually get used to. Still, I'd rather disable it if given the option; between OTs and UTs you have plenty of time to check on your health if you want to, no need for that.

Also, a couple of things in the end of chapter result screen really caught my attention. It seems that playing on "Deathwish" disables upgrades, and although "Untouchable" sounds self-explanatory I'm quite intrigued about it regardless. This game features plenty of machine gun enemies like previous entries, so actually pulling a no damage might be hard as balls if you don't get new skills like Raiden's ninja run that deflects bullets.

Looks as unbalanced as NGS2 with one hit kill grabs. They don't know what they're doing clearly. (inb4 gitgud) I've finished each game on MNM and in NG3RE's case UN as well. The only game MNM truly felt balanced was NG1/NGB/NGS1, it was half there for NG2, fucked in NGS2, and fucked in NG3 and again in NG3RE while UN was even worse put together.

I've finished all the mission mode shit in each game too but some of those turned into massive clusterfucks as well.

Team Ninja's games do look awful. The only somewhat decent games they've made recently is just DOA5/6. I also think Ronin looks decent on the right TV and hardware but that's only because some Sony people helped with the game a lot to get the graphics on par, and yet it still wasn't enough for the average normie.

NG4 has PS3 graphics but in a good way. Graphics peaked in 2014 anyway and Platinum is still stuck in an era and I think it works better this way. Some preview mentioned a 120fps mode on consoles and I sure it'll work a lot better than NG2B's 120fps mode.

I'm struggling to figure out in my head if this would work or not, as like a mental exercise. Mos of the games had an interconnected area with RE-esque puzzles, so at the very least you could probably ditch the mission based format in favor of a more continuous, unbroken story mode. But this may make it harder to replay certain bosses or segments you like.
You could probably combine the two, receiving missions inside an open area, similar to GTA, and have the option of replaying them after beating.
The biggest hurdle would be redoing all the movement options to fit a more open environment and audience expectations. I'm hesitant to bring vehicles into the mix, but by this point everyone has access to bikes or a van so the option is there, especially if you add some combat, let you vehicular manslaughter some demons.
