>non-smut game about attractive animal characters
>"let's see how horribly we can emotionally torment them"

Why does this always happen? I bet if Animal Crossing's characters didn't look like playdoh we'd find out the they're are all suicidal or some shit.

Comfy life sim/detective game.
Nice ass on the main girl.
I liked it. 6/10

It's a good game but the ending felt like it was trying too hard to be bittersweet and ended up just being kind of sad with some undertones of existential horror. They should have at least given Diana the option to bring her romance choice back to Turin with her. The dialogue option is there but they insist they're too happy living in town even though it's still probably cursed. (Not to mention there are fuckin' kids still living there.)

It's one of those stories where the main character got what they initially asked for but not what their heart truly wanted. And that is an emotionally powerful story, but I'm not sure if it's the emoiton I wanted from a charming adventure game with adorable characters. Maybe that's the whole point though, that looks can be deceiving, just like in a detective story.

I agree. It's a charming game but it seemed rushed in a lot of places. I would be interested in a sequel or DLC but maybe that's not happening. I don't think this sold very well.

Remember when this game was shilled here for months on end with claims like "this is what gamers want"? I member.

It hasn't sold well, it only has about 200 reviews on Steam and I think it's partially price (some people think $30 is too much for an adventure game with some shallow life simulator gameplay elements), but I think it's mostly marketing. The game has gotten basically no exposure even though it has so much going for it. Furries don't even know about the game.

I should add another thing this game unfortunately has going against it, that being that it's not interesting for streaming. The game's story is conveyed through visual novel-like text conversations, and there is a ton of running around town because the game borrows a lot from Shenmue but they didn't add fast travel except for a few specific locations that you only have a reason to visit a few times. If you approach the boat you can fast travel between POIs on the ocean, and on the Vespa you can travel between the four un-connected land areas but only one of them gives you any reason to revisit (the vineyard), and the boat and the vespa are on opposite ends of the map which plays into the overal problem of there being no quick way to get around town.

That is all shit you'd only know if you actually played or researched the game, though, and it's not the kind of thing that causes a game to sell only a thousand copies. When sales are that low on a 3D game it means there has been a catastrophic failure at marketing. Nobody cares about what flaws the game might have if they don't even know it exists. The marketing for On Your Tail is basically "we have accounts on all the social media platforms" and that's about it.

Honestly I figured all the threads that were had about this game were just stealth /hmofa/ threads that used this game not out of interest but as a mask so they can claim the thread is about vidya
Never bothered clicking on any of them save for when it actually came out but given how no one else was talking about it online and the game bombing i’d say I was right on the money

There aren't even any human characters in the game. Maybe the hmofas were rooting for this game because the female characters are fuckable, but in any case, whoever was participating in those threads didn't show up to buy the game.

Maybe it has some hope of becoming a cult classic but it's going to struggle to get any attention for a long time. It only has 1 page of art on E621 which ain't good. By comparison, Nine Sols has 16 pages.

If you're a fan of On Your Tail probably the best thing you can do for the game is commission some high quality spank material from furry artists. The expensive ones, not the cheap ones where it looks like a 12 year old who just graduated from crayola crayons drew it.

I'm not a furry, but What if they had leaned more into the furry-fucker audience?
Another idea would be to not make a furry game at all, make them all human characters, but I personally don't know about that. The game has a style that for some reason reminds me of European and of course specifically Italian Disney comics, which I really liked as a kid.
