And I emulate the developer console which has extra ram and i precache etc. For some games I underclock. The only hurdles I cant get past are graphically intensive racing games that max out my shitty embedded graphics card. But even god of war ii and san andreas ran fine with some tweaking

The map changes are just visual indicators of your progression on a puzzle, think Shadow Wood or Heresiarch's Seminary's indicators.

Gameplay I'm mixed on. For starters, I don't even know what they changed with Centaurs, "less tedious" doesn't tell me anything. Do they block less? Doesn't seem like it. Do they block for less time? Doesn't seem like it. The Cleric's shield is overpowered as fuck but it does feel good. I just wish you couldn't see the sprite on the screen when not blocking; I prefer just seeing the mace. Frost Shards is also overpowered as fuck now: faster fire rate, projectiles deal insane levels of damage (1shot slaughtaurs), and being able to fire through frozen targets essentially removes the Sapphire Wand's main gimmick. I will definitely not be using the gameplay changes when playing Mage.

Haven't tried Heretic yet.
