The pcsx2 and mame advancements make this year better than last year at least. In terms of 2025 games we wont know which ones are good until the smoke clears

I feel like there were at least a couple years in the brown and bloom era that were truly the worst shit unless you enjoyed that one genre of shooter game that kept getting endlessly retread.

First Nightreign and now BF6. It's actually been a good year for vidya. At least for online play vidya. Now all we need is a PC port of Banjo Kazooie and/or Diddy Kongs Racing and 2025 will end up being a great year for gaming.

That's probably 2022 where barring indie, the only major game of note that released was Elden Ring or if you're a Snoy then God of War
Everything else was shit you'd expect like yearly releases (i.e. Pokemon, CoD, etc.) or were expansions to existing games (Sunbreak)
2025 at least has had multiple games that people still talk about months later. I just pray that Metroid and Kirby are good since those are probably the only new games this year I'm picking up on release. .

Its hilarious how despite larger budgets than ever games still are of poor quality. I think gaming needs severe budget cuts and i think the investors influence needs to dramatically decrease

I played two new games this year, which is more than I can say for most years. Although whether they actually count as "new games" is debatable...

i'm liking the new madou monogatari game even if it's one in name and some characters only. but it's technically a 2024 game that only released in the west this year.
