E=MC^2 + AI is gibberish because the guy who wrote it doesn't know what E = mc^2 means
the blockchain guy isn't writing gibberish, he's just saying that you could use the same items in different games using blockchain
it's stupid because you don't really need blockchain for that and because nobody in their right mind would design their game like that, but it's not meaningless at all.

These Pajets still dont reilize the only reason AI can generate shit is because its just scanning and analyzing existing YouTube videos.
It cant create new content it can only transform existing content.
If AI replaced all transitional game development in the future the only new thing AI would have to train of would be AI videos.
Meaning it could only ever create slop of slop.

Think about how many videos of Cyberpunk there are on YouTube. Or Especially Mine-craft.
Now ask AI to generate something actually orignal that was never made before.

Like ask AI to make a Full 3d Open world game set in a Fantasy Setting that is inspired by South American Mythology but if they never got conquered by conquistadors.
Only humans could make something like this because it has not bean done before. Or if it has it was probably not popular enough for there to be YouTube videos to rip off.

Bullshit. You think this had any thought or feeling put into it? It has no meaning, the meaning came after. It was a "happy accident" at best.
Compare that to a classical work of art such as a sculpture or painting where you can tell how much passion and attention went into its creation.

I feel like it has its use in gaming for choose your own adventure type D&D style quest simulation. Like actually what Todd Howard acted like Radiant questing was for Skyrim back in 2011.
I’ve done some of those RPG chatbots and had more interesting and thought provoking experiences than any pseudslop game writers come up with, albeit doing most of the legwork myself since the AI is just a sort of jumping off point / “yes and”.

I don't understand how every AIbro is so convinced that we can just remove humans from creation and just AI-generate visuals, audio, text and everything else, and it'll be just as good and desirable as what we've had so far.

Those are exactly the kinds of people I’m criticizing.

The AI hype is a natural extension of the cultural push towards less and less thought provoking art, and I want it to stop. I’m fully aware of the fact that AI will be able to produce bottom of the barrel shite, and I’m aware that people will eat it up. What I don’t understand is why people are so content to let their brains go to waste like this.

no, you're making up a completely new idea. If you're playing a game with a small community and a server browser there's no bots. The community can come together and make new maps, vote on the good ones, and run modded servers with better map variety and frequent new maps if necessary.
You just don't want to accept that there are legitimate uses for this technology.
Or imagine you really like the catacombs in elden ring, but there's no procedural catacomb generation like bloodborne's chalice dungeons. Using AI to create procedural dungeons could absolutely be modded in if the technology were to advance enough, and the existing assets are already generic and reused.

Art is an aesthetic. You desperately want art to be some kind of grand message. To the right winger art does not need to have meaning or emotion, because it is functional. You put classical paintings up on a wall to store and transfer wealth tax free, which is a physical token of your power, influence, wealth, and taste.
Leftists think of art as a process, something you do, and place great importance on meaning over everything else, even more important than beauty or comprehension.

I think the worst part about all of this is seeing that a large number of people never reflect on anything they read, see, or play. They treat movies and games like handing cocomelon to a baby and aren't interested in anything more than colors and flashy lights and not only don't want anything higher, but actively chastize others for daring to put thought into things. This isn't exclusive to just story narratives either, but some people just don't think about how their games play at all.
I have always partly known since Bay's Transformers but since those movies eventually fell out of favor I had some hope. It's really depressing.

It's just another historical filter in the end. They'll have shows, movies and game tailored for them and no one to talk about so they generate discussion with AI. Individualism that dissipates itself.
But the reality an actual AI that can generate like that will never exist, at least for the masses. If you can generate anything, why give it away for free? Same with coding. When programming won't be needed that would be the end of software, therefore it would never be given or sold. Nor do I think we have the resources to run this on a global scale. If it's bad right now with all the generated crap can ylu imagini something 1000s of times more complex?

That sounds like it'd get boring quick. An AI can't quantify "fun" or what I find interesting. The most interesting things I personally find usually come from mentally ill Japanese people, because they'll create things I'd never expect to see.
Consider that the computer cannot "think" in the same way a person can. If you ask it to create a video game level, it will copy things it's already seen, or randomly create glue shit together and hope it works. Whereas a human has intent, ask 10 different people to design a level and while not everything will necessarily be brand new, they'll all have a clear thought process or focus, with perhaps one or two being experimental in nature.

>since you clearly only think art is "things I like" when art can be ugly and give room for interpretation
that is not what i said at all
what the fuck are you even talking about
i said good art influences people to be better, that's why good art is necessary
so obviously the opposite is true. i even say so
>an ugly surrounding = an ugly mind

the function of art is that it influences. its why churches commissioned the sistine chapel, its why advertisement companies spend millions every year on commercials, its why special interest groups fund specific artsits and promote them

This is true, everything else in your post isn't. Art doesn't need to influence people though, it's just self-expression and you can use AI to make it.

art doesn't need to be made to influence people, but it does
not every artists thinks about if their art will change the minds of millions. some just want to make cool shit.
but certain artists get picked out and promoted for reasons beyond "hey i just like this guy"

i don't know why you even bring up ai into this conversation

Normal people don't care about AI.
Actually the cultural shift that is happening the more danger hairs/left-type/slacktivists that cry about it the more normal people begin to support it. Because most of the criticism is senseless screeching while the actual concerns regarding AI is being tactfully kept out of view from the public. Take this >>717792582 for example, most people would go "haha wow so funny!" But then you'll have that vehement anti-AI fag bitch and complain about this funny little video. Which then makes a normal person go "wow this guy is kinda weird"

It's a pity the well is so poisoned by corpos and jeet scams, there's some fun AI stuff that could be discussed on /v/, bootleg porn and story generators.
I love generating lewds of characters using Urushihara Satoshi's style (80s/90s artist that did the art for Growlanser and Langrisser on Sega systems)
