Actual theme park game. You have no reason to interact with the world. It's just a prop. I remember the director said that any MH he'd be involved with would have a high focus on creating believable, interactive environments, yet this is the most static, dead world in the entire series.

Iceborne was still a "hardcore" MH, and it sold extremely well. Now they've dumbed their game down further for now reason and are facing the consequences. High initial sales due to MH being MH, but they've come to a halt and owners of the game are furious.

Worst part about wilds is there's really nothing they can do to fix it now, the big problems are at the core of the game. Adding new monsters that hit harder won't solve this.
A lot of criticism is about performance but even if the game ran flawlessly it'd still be the weakest MH game in recent memory.

There's plenty to criticize world/rise about, but their issues didn't ruin the game for me. I lost the drive to keep playing wilds when I killed tempered arkveld a few times like 40 hours in.

But because of focus mode, every weapon now has 100% uptime on DPS. Between that and wounds, with blues being a knockdown, everything just melts. Tons of things in Wilds just feels half-baked or contradictory.
We have tent customization, but does anybody even use them? Like the features there? People use them to fast travel if the monster is all the way across the map, but in general they just use the birdtaxi.
The two weapon thing is another one. Most of my time online I never see anyone swap weapons (I don't either).
I feel like the multi weapons and tent functions could work if the main missions weren't like the classic missions, but like the field surveys (another thing people barely play).

Maybe to help rectify that, in Master Rank they'll do a fusion of Guiding Lands and Anomalies (or at least, leveled monsters). That way, you're out in the field for an hour at a time, giving a purpose to actually using the tents. Maybe they can give buffs when you do the campfire emotes? But this way, you're more likely to use both weapons on multiple hunts now because maybe some matchups are better than others. Or maybe they can at least add some investigations that have more than two monsters, which I can't believe isn't in the game yet. I want some endurance runs.

You can us the Akuma armor and moveset in any hunt, but you get a 4-5x damage boost in the arena quests with Akuma because he gets an arena exclusive street fighter attacks damage boosting Charm that you cannot craft/buy. Base World had absolutely nothing going for it until later patches, and even then it sucked. World revisionism is absolute cancer. World's roster was essentially 15 shitmons, their clones, and you never fought anything except one of the tempered punching bags for an attack jewel and a streamstone, streamstones that made an already way too easy game even easier by fucking fully healing you after a few hits.
