>biggest failure in gaming
I think it's the single biggest failure in media (films/tv/movies/etc) by losing $400m.
You have to get into the realm of actual business failures (Time Warner/AOL, ENRON,etc) to see bigger, more expensive fuckups.

If it's the game I'm thinking of, it was a combination of the following:
>no marketing campaign
>brand new IP by no-name studio (but published by semi-name Bandai-Namco)
>pojeeta as main character with bland DEI-friendly cast
>no new or interesting game mechanics of any kind
Most of the /v/ threads were 'Huh? When did it come out?', if that tells you anything.

At the time, it TOR was a huge fucking mess and a prime example of EA being cunty scumbags. The game was glitchy and buggy, and EA was doing shit like 'accidentally' disabling the unsubscribe function and blaming website errors to stem the bleeding. /v/ was right to shit all over it. And it was circa 2012. Woke wasn't a thing yet.
