>>717890498 (OP)Sales wise, from multiple sources, the game made back it's budget by THREE TIMES... but as a game, it has deeply rooted issues both as a Hack n Slash and an RPG game.
As a hack n Slash, it is weigh down by it's RPG mechanics, equipments cannot significanty change the characer too much, having enemies with severely inflated healths and limited movesets, the environment design is far too large for it, the NPCs quests or dialogue differences requires too much investments to get an ending for it, despite having five/seven Eikons with a variety of unique moves, the developers decided to lock them behind cooldowns and limited buttons rather than incorporating it into the moveset.
As an RPG, it is weigh down by it's Hack n Slash mechanics, equipments cannot significantly change the character too much, there are not enough enemy variety to compensate for the limited movesets, the environment is far too linear for any meaningful explorations, the NPCs quest or dialogue differences is not significant enough, even with the whole Eikon vairety, this game is entirely a Clive game with the teammates being there and they don't get to help or involve in combat as much because it would pose too much vairability if they do.
At the same time... it is a contentor as the most well written game in the franchise, the voice acting is genuinely convincing, the theatrics and choreography is very well done and the character designs is well thought out.
There is alot of things that went wrong with this game and alot of things that went right with this game, many game's fault have reason to why it's like that, and this one is like two siblings born to the same body despite being polar opposites... but there are potential surgeries to seperate them, but it would never address the main issue itself.
