google doesnt update their anti adblock all at once, they update small server clusters to test how effective it is. I can see Ublock fighting with the ads and refreshing the video anytime they try and do this. By the next patch ublock has already found a way around it

What's weird to me is that if you had adblock and suddenly decided to disable it they will make your experience so bad you'll just want to turn it back on again. I tried it once a few months back, and I would get 1 minute of ads for every one minute of the video (and it wouldn't even be all at once, I would get 15-20+ second ads every 20-30 seconds making the whole thing unwatchable).

After a couple rounds of just hitting the button to turn them back on, I couldn't do that anymore. Instead of trying to find a workaround, I just said fuck it and switched to Firefox. I like it a lot more, personally. My only complaints are the obvious lack of chromecast, and that you can't pull a new tab off and touch it to the side of your screen to make it only take up half of it. That said, there is not escape because youtubers read promotions in the middle of the videos.

Another way to block ads is to go into your windows "host" files and forbid the IP licensed by the main advertising servers. It let you block ads even on software outside of internet navigator.

I've heard that an electric failure removed some servers that counted for 20% of all internet spam.
