The most hyped character is Papyrus.
Anyway I don't mind Undyne's jobbing. She's strong but she just got dropped into a dark world for the first time and barely figured out how to throw a spear. She won't be at all like her Undertale counterpart who trained for years to be the very best. Also, her first enemy was the toughest fight in the game which three experienced dark world adventurers barely fought to a standstill (with special anti-dark armor, btw) before getting one-tapped. Nobody can seriously think Undyne would do well here.
My main complaint is how bad Undyne's sprite is. Either keep the cop uniform or give her proper armor, not some stupid in-between. I like her hair though.

The knight is literally the hardest fight in the game so far and it's not even remotely close.
Knight might arguably be harder than Sans. Sans is more conventionally difficult, because his fight takes for fucking ever, but his entire fight is deterministic and can be perfectly learned. Knight incorporates RNG elements that makes is much harder to learn.

Also Knight isn't going to be the ultimate villain. She's actually the secret good guy fighting against Gaster.

Deltarune doesn't run on dragon ball logic where characters have some kind of defined power level. And the power of a character doesn't even really matter.

I've also seen people use this to say Kris Slash theory definitely cannot be true because Kris wouldn't be strong enough to knock out Susie. But, swoon just means losing consiousness, and if Kris just hits Susie in the back of the head real hard they'll knock her unconscious. Damage is kind of realistic in Deltarune, being strong won't save you from getting knocked out when someone hits you on the back of the head.

No-Hit doesn't mean anything for difficulty. Asgore and Omega Flowey are harder to no-hit, but still easier than Sans. Knight is just easier than Sans via virtue of better items in the battle, better equipment and faster fight that skips most of her harder attacks if you're good.

Villain Gaster would genuinely be the worst. The entire story being a day dream of Kris getting over accidentally pushing Dess down the stairs and killing her would be less awful in comparison.

Power scaling aside, the Knight is a spent asset narratively speaking. The reason the Titan happened at all is because he didn't want to retread the Knight fight again. We've already fought the Knight, so he can't make that be a major boss fight again without it feeling repetitive.

The knight is going to lose relevance going forward, and we fight it again, it will lose. That's just how these sorts of things work.

I think something like this might be ok. But I'm not convinced by any timeloop theories DESU. And I don't think Kris would even want that. Kris actually seems kinda depressed, and has tonnes of self harm imagery going on. I think it's much more likely that they're going to sacrifice themselves at the end of the game.

Well that kinda seems like a you problem them. Me and almost everyone else in the fanbase loves these characters. In my eyes that's too similar to the genocide route in Undertale. If Toby went a similar route it would be disappointing. The game strongly implies that Kris is not innocent, and even Susie knows he tried to summon a demon, implied to be (you). The Weird route already is getting into his mental torture and who knows what other consequences he may face. Kris should be broken and sunk to his lowest as he loses all control over the situation while the player grows more powerful. Then, and only then, should Asriel save him and put him on the rocky path to atonement. Narratively and symbolically this would be the best way to approach the Weird Route.

Not going to lie, I don't see the Knight survivng any ending except the absolute best one. Especially with what they've done and are planning to do in other routes. Whacking Tenna and Jackenstein when they didn't even have to do the latter, as well as turning Undyne into a popsicle are the type of things where the only option is "redemption through death". And just look at Asgore, he put 6 children to death and he's the central antagonist (Flowey just hogs the spotlight at the last second shut up) who dies in every single ending save for one.

While that would be a properly tragic ending, I don't think the Weird Route will strongly resemble Undertale's genocide where Frisk gradually gets possessed by Chara who becomes the worst version of himself (or herself). Remember how there are hints of puppets being used up and discarded, which foreshadows what might happen to Kris. It's likely we'll start possessing Noelle and even the custom vessel. Kris already hates you as of Chapter 4 weird route, so if this ends up happening he may come back, physically and mentally scarred, to stop (you). Since that would involve destroying the SOUL and he needs that, he'd probably die, unless if Asriel gets involved like I said. Also, instead of completely black tragedy I'd prefer a somewhat bittersweet ending.

The actual game only takes part in the bad choice and then it tries to make you feel bad when you never really had any real choice to begin with because "not playing" is a cop out. Any game without meaningful choice is a linear timeline with no impact from the player no matter what the game may claim. They are fine but I do think a lot of that downplays their potential as a actual story (Though, granted, the bigger problem is that Rockstar just can't write). Niko Bellic is the classical example of that. If I think it's lecturing anybody, I think it's mostly game design trends. Aka: It's lecturing other game designers. Undertale obviously has a lot of issues with grinding and the way people approach RPG games. While Deltarune's weird route to me mostly just feels like a very open take down of romance sub plots in games like Mass Effect or even Baldur Gate 3.
