I don't really consider Astlibra well written, the story feels like chaotic shit haphazard strewn together (in a good way, I like just how over the top it gets). BS2 feels chaotic at first, but you quickly realise how intricately designed, how interconnected everything is. It takes some real skill to create a real nonlinear, fragmented story and EMMM clearly did it. It kind of feels like a Pynchon novel, except that there is no ambiguity whether the conspiracy is real.

That's literally just Dinah's demonbeast form you see there in the normal route anon, it doesn't mean that her current vessel is dead the same way that Prayer Master's demonbeast form in BS1 didn't mean he was dead when you were fighting him. Dinah also flat out states that Node saved her life at some unspecified point in time, if you want to take that as Node saving her soul and giving her soul a vessel to inhabit and role to play for BS2 is up to some interpretation, but regardless the current Dinah and her vessel we see her in aren't dead during the events of BS2.

You literally collect their books in BS2 anon, it's not like their souls were all lost when Elysium collapsed at the end of BS1 (with the possible exception of BS1 Miranda, even BS1 Victoria has a maid headgear in the Nameless Forest that hints at her somehow making it into BS2's world). With their books revival should be more than possible.

Why is the "normal" version so fucking ass? BS already had a non-h mode, couldn't the localisers just make it so that you automatically choose the non-h version when Alice talks to you in the tutorial? But I couldn't beat her, she was too powerful for me. I even busted out cheatengine but the mild boosts I gave myself weren't enough.

The books being irrelevant in BS2's main plot is also irrelevant to the point I'm making here. Those are literally the BS1 heroines and their books that you find in BS2. Their souls weren't somehow lost in the collapse of BS1's garden, and they're not going to be lost from the collapse of BS2's garden either. Red specifically talks about finding the books to revive the others in the BS2 Hotel anon, it's not some kind of blind fucking guess it's blatant foreshadowing.

It's a deep cut from BS1, but even when they're defeated/killed, they just return back to their books. More than likely, Dorothy's scene in BS2 is the kind of thing Hatta refers to in DLC 3 about how fairy tales don't die, but live on in a place we know not. Despite Dorothy being dead, her book still exists and she also still clearly exists and remembers us and the time we've spent with her in BS1.
