They tend to assume that any other MMO has what XIV has + what those MMOs uniquely offer. So they see GW2 as XIV + the outdoor stuff and dye system GW2 has. And then they realize that that is in fact not the case.

It's not the case globally (sometimes they make dumb decisions with new gear) but for a lot of the gear with shitty dye channels, it's because they are old and their primary dye channel already affected almost the entire thing. So to make the second dye channel those pieces, they'd have to remove some influence from the first dye channel, and then they'd have to do extra work, or they'd risk someone being mad that a piece no longer dyes identically to the way it did before.
It's not an excuse, but that's probably their main reason for it. I hope they look at some of the channels again when they're done with their main push, but yeah.

they genuinely are, they introduced a new villain very different from the ones we had before, added some really good trials and dungeons, introduced Sphene which is just very nice, and the MSQ actually felt like it was going somewhere, it expanded on a lot while also setting the seeds for the future, and most crucially did not leave us constantly with Wuk who do not matter.
Also the puzzle resident evil-ish segment of 7.3 was good and they should do more of that in future MSQ just to shake it up

yeah I figured, it's still annoying as a player to get 2 dyes and then see the second one just changes the colors of some buttons, I hope they can go back and change some of these, but after they've updated the gear, I prefer new textures anyways.

What if we got quest design like in 7.3 but ALSO more combat? That sounds good. Hell, add a jump puzzle in there once in a while, and hey, now the MSQ is more than just reading text.
But no, as simple as the "puzzles" in 7.3 were, I did really enjoy getting to do them, and how they were interlaced into the story.

It feels petulant to shit on a story that I otherwise thought was pretty good (and might be a standout if not for its attachment to the spoiled fish that is 7.0) just because they didn't gimme my new teammate. I really wish they had gone that route, or at least postponed their choice for Sphene until 7.4. Plenty of time to gauge whether people like her and then go from there. I feel like even if I enjoy the story ahead, I'll be thinking about "but what if Sphene was there, too?" How I feel about 7.0 is generally..
It was bad, but also... say 7.0 had been 6.x level bad. Not great, not horrid, just 'meh'. People didn't love it, but they also weren't outraged by it. There wouldn't be such an outcry over 7.0 and the game would just continue plodding on at that level.
Instead, 7.0 was bad enough to get people to be extremely vocal about it. This gives them a chance to course correct. Not saying they will, but if nobody had said much of anything because it was just serviceable enough for the fanbase not to melt down about it, that might have cemented its fate.

Island Sanctuary was way too dry and solo play.
Criterion was not a worthy replacement for forays. It should have been an addition. Hell, you can play forays fairly casually. How will you play a criterion casually? Variant? Wow, you did the 12 paths and now you have nothing left to do.
And then Eureka Orthos was famously sucky at the early levels.

On that note they should do the exact same for unreals, gear shouldnt really have to be a factor so set everyones ilvl to a .0's tome gear so you only have to update all the bosses once per expansion and boom you suddenly have what is essentially a better ex roulette, boom 2 different forms of midcore content that also dont require an insane amount of time

Hi,

as the title states, I'm looking for any and all endgame Scholar guides. I've tried looking through resources such as The Balance, Icy Veins and the likes, but I haven't found anything that would answer the issues that I have.

To give you a background, I'm a savage/ultimate level player who plays all roles decently - it's not a problem for me to copy a mit plan/some rotational gimmicks from top logs and crank out orange/pink parses. What I want to do, however, is to transition into being a healer main, mostly AST/SCH as those are the most powerful healers in prog settings. And while I think I understand AST's tools, I'm at a loss as to how to best utilize SCH's tools; I lack the understanding of what's best in certain scenarios/why mit plans are constructed the way they are.

I know the basics, such as the priority of healing skills (Fairy ogcds > Aetherflow ogcds > gcd healing) and parallels between SCH and SGE's kits (Expedient being roughly equal to Holos, Seraph being roughly equal to Panhaima, Seraphism being roughly equal to Philosophia etc.), but I struggle to find the best use for each of them.

Making people farm dungeons for gear before entering savage is antithetical to how this game's current endgame model works as opposed to The Other MMO. The clear point from the developer team is that anyone should be enter it without much hassle. The accessibility of this game's endgame content is it's strength, not a weakness that needs to be addressed. It's also why a ton of my friends and me switched to this game as endgame oriented players. I honestly can't speak for how it is now, I've heard the grind has been heavily reduced but I still see WF groups grind 3 days worth of splits before they enter the raid. This isn't an apples to apples comparison but it's one of the reasons why some people prefer this game's endgame.

Also tracking time is literally the exact same thing as tracking the stars. We measure time by the movement of celestial bodies, primarily the sun. Which is why Time Mage in classic games also has space magic like Gravity, Comet, and Meteor.

The rest of your post basically is talking about implementing a mythic+ coffer -lite version. I think expert dungeons in general are just a poor idea to make into mythic+ content because fighting trash is just not as fun or interactive in this game. Expert trash packs are just regular trashpacks, in criterion the trashpacks are a mini-encounter instead. If you actually wanted to do this it would be better to just re-use criterions or have them drop in savage patches with proper rewards. Which is btw what they did in last expac, they were dropped 8 weeks into the savage patch. Criterion is a much better format to make use of as an alternate way of savage gearing. Same with alliance raids, there is no reason as to why ally raids are 10 ilvls lower than savage while being on a weekly lockout in a patch where savage is already "outdated".
