Mass Effect probably is. As much as I think 2 is superior (and a lot of other anons do as well), the first one is pretty much universally loved.
A lot of people never played Deus Ex, and imsims are really divisive.

It's a clunky pile of a game, and a lot of the appeal back when it came out was the promise that it's part of a grand, pre-planned trilogy - which turned out to be slightly misleading.

The biggest downside to deus ex is that its a bit of a casual normalfag game. Like yeah its pretty good, but people latch onto shit like this and make it their whole identity and that's a *MIGHTY BIG* cringe. You gotta play other stuff, other genres, games with genuine obstacles. Normalfag teens play through this game with nothing but stealth and the pistol and think its the hottest shit ever because it has memes in it. Also every single sequel the game has is complete garbage.

I think you could categorize Deus Ex to /v/ what AAA open world action adventure games are to the general populous. Just a really wide net thats not gunna filter anyone. That doesn't make it the best game ever or anything, it just makes it really inoffensive.

I like these games. As you can see, Deus Ex is one of my favorites. However, I'm not afraid of looking at old things critically because I don't make the same 20 threads over and over for years like its a lifestyle. It's definitely got the highest approval rating of anything /v/irgins have actually played. Like people suck off Godhand all the time and haven't beaten it, but I feel like 30-40% have seen the credits roll on Deus Ex.

I feel it falls off pretty hard after you return to New York and you feel has disparate the combat skills are and that most areas aren't built for stealth anymore, but that's a common opinion and it's still pretty good.

Personally Deus ex is my favourite game, but I can get why some people don't get it. I'm lucky I got it back in the day of demo disks or I might have never given it 3 shots because I simply did not get that shit at first.
