Huh? No when I say RPGs are shit I really do mean it. This is the worst genre I have ever played and this mental illness is why you should avoid them. I feel nothing when I complete an rpg. I have fun learning complicated games, when I beat a difficult game I'm excited and my heart is pounding. You don't get that with RPGs. It's for people who don't want to be challenged and are just looking for escapism, and anyone who makes RPGs their focus will always shift towards the dumbest games imaginable. This is why we have threads on fallout and mass effect every day. Because they are dumb and easy games for people who can't play real games. Games are meant to be won, they aren't for escapism. Even initially RPGs were designed as harrowing and deadly wargame-esque dungeon crawls, where roleplaying was merely your role in the party and Gygax described LARPing as something that would only appeal to women. The real reason people don't play quake is because it's functionally antiquated. However, it does have younger pros, the only people interested are niche groups that want to master that style of play and find it extremely appealing.
