>I'm starting with King Of Fighters XV
A common newfag mistake is starting with the flashiest games instead of learning fundamental. SNK does not make good games btw
>Could have had lot of fun time instead of wasting it all on FPS
I went from 2000 hours of matches on fightcade to Counterstike lol. Too depressing seeing the state of new fighting games and Evo getting taken over by blazbabies

>I wanna get into Pathfinder
But anon, these games are based on a long dead ruleset that's no longer used in pathfinder. And in a vacuum theyre terrible games anyways, among the absolute worsts games you can play. But you know that because this thread isn't the least bit genuine, just like every other CRPG thread that gets spammed every day with someone pretending to be new to set up permanent generals.

The real reason people don't play quake is because it's functionally antiquated. However, it does have younger pros, the only people interested are niche groups that want to master that style of play and find it extremely appealing.

https://youtu.be/sw5YbWQ8KcM

A lot of people who say they like quake don't even play it any more and don't know what the game is really like, they just remember pubstomping.

I think it would be extremely generous to say even 0.01% of /v/ likes mass effect. Most of the threads are just one guy talking to himself. I remember when /vrpg/ had a 600 day old mass effect thread and it was the same stuff that just cyclically gets posted on /v/. It's very odd.

Anyways it's recettear.

I wanted to discuss anime and manga but all the threads are slow and dead, and it looks like the ongoing manga I follow is all dead here too despite being super popular every where else and even being popular here for a long time. It's like a ghost town here, it's super weird.

NTA but classics should be viewed more critically than new games. It's not interesting to discuss games I already discussed to death over 20 years ago with some retarded third world failed normalfag boomer who's trying to make up for lost time. If you can't bring anything new to the table then your opinion isn't valuable. Objectively none of the games in OP are particularly great.

GPU first, 3600 is good enough for 1440p for older things. RAM is just buy whenever you need it because it costs relatively nothing.

>wait for next generation cards
Why? Im not expert but isn't the next console gen rumored to use around a 5080 spec wise? It's not even expensive to hit around that now and it's not like consoles will fully utilize that anyways.

It's nostalgiashit for millennials who grew up with DOS computers basically. The game is progression slop where the controls are shit, the level design are shit, the enemy design is shit, the base gameplay is completely shit and the only way you can enjoy it is turning your brain off. And its fine to do that but you cant turn around and pretend that the game is high art and the best shmup ever made.

/r/anime is pretty objectively in a much better state than /a/, I don't think anyone else is to blame when this place is the worst there is. Allowing generals and dailies to be spammed everywhere is what killed it and stomped out all discourse. There's nothing interesting here, I feel coming here now is like arguing with asshurt little kids and if you try to make a fun thread someone will just desperately try to slide it within an hour while generals are up for like 6 days straight.

Umamusume has surpassed Secretariat in popularity. It's a love letter to the intricacies and history of Japanese horse racing, it covers various tracks and why they're important, the differences between track lengths and turf, types of horses like front runners and closers, famous incidents in racing history (https://youtu.be/P26Opa7F5g0), and it puts a face to all these elements in an endearing way. Instinctively acting with disgust towards things you don't understand is generally a signifier for poor emotional intelligence.

>How is it any better
Finding the right combination of cards and making the optimal choices in career is enjoyable. It's ultimately very simple once you figure out how everything works, but there's a lot to figure out, especially when you consider that every horse has different styles and campaigns. So for a free game I could see someone totally disinterested in gacha easily sinking 50 hours into it and that still being time well spent, especially when there's an accompanying manga and anime that's actually really shockingly good. It's a fun sports simulator mechanically, with a great accompanying franchise, and it made me really think about Japanese horse racing which I never would have done previously.

With other gacha I find the typical "gameplay" is either
>your input only matters superficially and you progress until you hit a power brick wall
Or
>Endless crappy busy work bolted to a terrible VN

Neither of these apply to umamusume. (At the moment)

All elder scrolls games are bad. If the only thing you can compare a game to is shitty games, well, it's a shit game. It's like that patriciantv guy who acts like morrowind is the second coming of christ and when you check his channel he exclusively plays the most mind numbing slop. If you've only played trash your opinion is worthless.

BG3 doesn't belong here, it gives the player complete freedom while tying them to a handful of narrative anchor points, like rpgs in the 80s and 90s. No two bg3 playthroughs will ever be exactly the same between different individuals by virtue of how many permutations there are. The other games don't do this at all.
