You can since the story doesn't require you to know anything from the other games. If you have time before the game releases next week you could easily finish MGS1 and MGS2 first and that would be ideal, but be sure you read the story of Metal Gear 1 and 2 (the MSX games). I still think Physint is MGS6, and Kojima's coming back for one last hurrah, for real this time. There are too many little things that feel like hints. And I just can't see Kojima going back to the Stealth Genre unless he was doing everything in his power to explain how he's doing absolutely everything differently from the get go. It doesn't make sense to me that he'd include himself being asked if Physint is Metal Gear in a scripted, prerecorded video, and act like he was caught off guard, only to brush it off in the most noncommital way possible. Why would he pretend to be caught off guard? That's way too obvious.

Large companies often blacklist game journos for giving unfavorable reviews and that creates a chill effect that results in inflated scores because journos cannot afford to lose the early access. Youtubers are an avenue for marketing as they tend to have large dedicated audiences so they help with marketing. A lot of larger companies don't like youtubers though because they can go rogue and the effect of being black listed isn't as bad as it is for specialist review sites.
