What makes Black Souls better than the rest is the fact that it doesn't waste your time with dumb fuck characters. I played SEQUEL after playing all of BS because people kept recommending it as a part of a trinity and sure enough it's fucking terrible. Not the porn mind you that was really hot but the gameplay is just mind numbing generic RPG gimmicks, people do NOT want their time wasted with this garbage they are here to play a porn game. BS follows for the most part the same principle as Dark Souls in that a lot of the lore is fed through things you have to go out of your way to find or experience or even through item descriptions, keeping the significant dialogue between characters short and important.
On the other hand SEQUEL just enjoyed dragging every single godamn scene and the plot wasn't even that interesting to begin with "oh this side is blocked we have to go take a detour" "oh we're in a dungeon now oh woe is me we gotta find a way out" "oh we have to fight these old cult or something" I genuinely lost interest. I don't know how this game has so many entries I assume the rest of the porn must be that good as the early one I saw to justify it.
The point I'm trying to make is if the main story isn't interesting nor the gameplay there's little reason for you to care. 2D action hentai games are just much better because RPGMaker slop is hard to be engaging, BLACK SOULS is the exception and not the norm.

Objectively bad games, aren't really about genre or approach gameplay, or other measures. Instead, an objectively bad game is one that's either so technically broken it can't be properly played, or a game with no audience at all. Even then the game with no audience at all is more the fault of the developer not really understanding who their game was being made for. Keep in mind a game with a very small niche audience is different than a game with no audience at all, though a game for a niche audience with a budget that requires a mass audience is certainly a mistake that can be viewed as bad because so few people are its target. That said, the budget is the real mistake in such a case - the audience clearly exists, however small, the publisher/devs just needed to budget for that audience rather than blowing a huge budget that couldn't possibly get its return.

Though I suppose there's something to be said for a dev, really loving a niche genre and deciding to blow all the money on it for one big flash in the pan that fails horribly, but acts as a love letter of that gameplay type for that small audience that loves it. Doubt stuff like that purposefully happens all that often though.

The game rewards you a bit too much. Once you start stacking all the different buffs together, the game becomes a breeze.
This is rectified in DLC3 where all the enemies get a massive power level boost. And lvl 1 runs are very well balanced once you know how to abuse the combat system.

I've played SEQUEL blight, awake and colony. There is just nothing really going on... I don't remember why I forced myself to keep playing, but I like the characters interaction I guess... But it's not worth it, because the endings are so shit. I just don't bother with the series anymore since I heard it just went downhill from there

Theres some segments when a large shield and heavy guard is the difference between life and death.
With the nerf to evade some times hunkering down makes what seemed like unwinnable fights winnable.
But free GunBreak is pretty addicting and and is what I primarily went with especially when farming/encountering new mobs.
Just occasionally check for yourself the difference between a guard with a shield and normal guard with a gun. If it isnt a boss that is overwhelmingly powerful for you and you're still dying while guarding with a shield though that usually means the attack that got you was an instakill which is just another ailment type to consider about with some enemies.
There is also eventually a Heavy Break attack which you may have access to with certain shit, it just makes them take more damage than normal Break.
Enemies have different levels of break res, and infliction/application is formulated around LUCK stat.

There's a fundamental difference between an h-game and a game with h-content, but like most genre names (moba, roguelike, metroidvania, etc), the nuance is completely lost to most people.

An h-game has the porn AS the gameplay.
A game with h-content just has nudity or sex in it.

Either is fine as long as the game is ultimately fun to play.
I like Sakura's dungeon crawling and I like Kaiju's sex sim.
Even games like Stardew Valley with sex mods can be interesting.
While posers like Artificial Girl are just boring because it's just an animation loop playing over and over.
Personally I get more fun out of playing games like Harem Hotel where the dev took poser assets and put them into a game, than trying to fuck with the poser myself.

That's the key, you can't have a transition between the gameplay and the porn. Stuff like Game Over Rape wouldn't count, but stuff like mashing to break out of sex in a platformer would.

Ending B is the "normal" ending for whacking Cinderella and beating the game.
Ending A is the "golden" ending where you save and waifu all the heroines and everyone gathers in one big post-game party to congratulate you. Usually takes NG+ to know their locations, triggers, gotchas etc.
Ending C is the "bad" ending where you do things you most definitely shouldn't have done.
Ending D is an offshoot alternative end that was added later to explain several things and lead to BS 2

A Ending checklist without spoilers:
- Check the starting zone after each boss. Time in the game progresses per boss killed.
- East of starting zone, save the harpy before your 5th boss kill
- There is a blind girl inside a building of Rotten Burg. Whenever you find her, you should find and kill the Pied Piper, then you should check in on her after each boss kill.
- As soon as you see a sister/nun in the starting zone, go kill the boss in the cathedral of Elixir
- Whenever the sister/nun leaves the starting zone, find the Skeletal Maze and explore it. Complete the skeleton's quest before your 8th boss kill.
- A lady that sells souls will eventually show up at the starting area. When she leaves the starting area, you must do her quest north of the starting area.
- Get 5 sin and go to the Tainted Bog to fight a secret-ish boss.
Optional Objective:
If you want to fuck Cinderella and get her ring, then you must also rush to Fort Ivern before the saint leaves the starting area. After finding Izu in Fort Ivern, you should on the west wall of Elixir for him. After you find him the second time, there's no real way to fuck up his storyline.
