That's exactly what Zenimax did during the Microsoft acquisition. Doesn't matter that Wolfenstein Youngblood and Redfall were disastrous flops and Fallout 76 was only saved by being given away on PS Plus. They got the money they wanted out of Microsoft buying them.

But I wonder what it's like for the people actually doing the real work. The live service market has not changed significantly since 2021. All you're doing is sending a game out to die. Are they just showing up for a paycheck to do some code or make some models and to pad the portfolio? Phoning it in like those Bungie artists stealing all that artist's work for Marathon?
