I don't. He was never good at reviewing video games. I suspect he only used to do it since it was in vogue at the time, and that he has no real passion for them.
Just look at his review of Takeshi no Chousenjou. He's very obviously just following the guide on GameFAQs to a t, and he spent zero effort actually exploring the game for himself. Anything that's not in the GameFAQs he completely ignores, including genre defining mechanics like talking to NPCs. He reviewed an adventure game and never once mentioned that you can talk to people... which is quite literally the entire point of the game. He also complains about not being able to save and having to start over every time you die, which is especially frustrating considering HE SHOWS THE PASSWORD SCREEN IN THE VIDEO. Similarly, he complains about not being able to heal... which is just a lie. You can heal very easily by drinking alcohol. Of course, JonTron doesn't know this since its not mentioned in the GameFAQs and would require actually exploring the game. There's an event in the game where if you try to fly anywhere that's not the South Pacific, your airplane gets attacked by terrorists and you game over. Its pretty goofy, and exactly the type of thing you would mention in a comedy review of the game. Did you know that was a thing? I know JonTron didn't, since its not mentioned in the GameFAQs. I'm not saying Takeshi no Chousenjou is a good video games, but his review is such shit. And its unfortunate too, since that's probably the only place a lot of English speaking people have seen the game. We are 10 years removed from the release of that video and I still see people spreading misinformation from it.
