Why do people still not understand?
You have to follow the rule of cool or the rule of coom to get sales.
However, every single game dev thinks they're too cool to go for coom (like they are above it).
And as for the rule of cool, they for some reason have a visceral reaction to it, they for some reason hate it, and are constantly trying to "redefine" what cool is. It's not working, it will never work. What you think is "cool" will always be lame and gay, no matter how much you try to convince people otherwise
This is not exclusive to video games. This is the same reason franchises like Star Wars and Capeshit are dying
And then they just say "people are not interested in Marvel anymore". And then when something like Marvel Rivals comes out and is a big hit because it goes for the rule of cool AND coom. Crickets. Not a fucking word.
