Seth and Yun are 2 of the most hated characters for a reason.

Also SF4 was fun mostly due to how the players didn't yet come to an understanding of sharing their tricks of the trade for youtube/cotter content views so you could have awesome character specialists show up out of nowhere and showcase impressive never before seen tech.

It shares pitfalls of other games though of course like Elena in the last version of the game.

yes, im pretty sure having so much stuff be a 1f link isnt exactly fun, or engaging, specially when the amount of combos and links that have secondary options to make the imput windows a bit easier to manage (like most of E. Ryu's BnBs that involve cr.MP where you can swap it out for a cr.LP to have an easier time doing them at the cost of some damage).
the defense was also a mixed bag because if your character didnt have a good backdash or a good reversal you were shit outta luck playing against most top tiers like Seth or Yun since they tend to have insane oki set ups or crossups into DEATH.

I still prefer 3S because it was simple, easier and and with more focus on the mindgames but SF4 was a godsend for people with good execution, it was always great to see people like diago, j.wong, and infiltration play. Fuck even watching Mike Ross play was a unique experience. Everyone played differently, No one played Ryu like Diago, No one played Rufus like Daigo, different play styles thanks to the different mechanics . pretty much any Street Fighter game is better than SF6 unless you have no frame of reference for their previous entries whatsoever. just the monetization downgrade from SFV to SF6 is fucking sickening. SFV ran 6 character seasons, and all the characters and costumes could be unlocked with IN-GAME CURRENCY, and most costumes had a secret variant you could choose using a code at character select on some old school PS2 shit.

fast-forward to SF6, they're charging you $39.99 for Premium Season Passes that only include 4 characters, they can't even release one set of costumes per year, plus they're trying to nickel and dime you with the BattlePass, PLUS trying to nickel and dime you with the Avatar cosmetic shop. just hook me up to an IV and take all my blood, why don't you – fucking leeches. and the worst part is, 80% of the blood they're trying to sap from my body isn't even being reinvested in Street Fighter – it's being diverted to fucking Monster Hunter and Resident of Duty. i think the signficant difference is that, the worst parts of SF4 were only even experienced at higher levels. people couldn't even FADC in Bronze.
from the first second of your first match of SF6 though, it's fucking Drive Rush and Drive Impact and throw loops all the way down to Wood tier. the kookily shit in 6 is inescapable. it is intrinsic because of how simple and aggressive the Drive System is.
