DD2 is a bad game because it's vastly inferior to DD. The world is literally empty and there is zero reward for exploration. Just about everything in this game feels soulles compared to DD. From the black female guards, to no dungeons, to vanishing NPCs if they are 10 meter away.

Dark Arisen isn't that great anyways. People wanted a Dragon's Dogma 2 to expand on and correct the rough issues of a 'brand new' series.
They basically just redid the first game. Much better world, better rebalanced classes, each one getting more skills and toys, but now there are less enemies??? to spend time with the fun combat. Less advanced classes, new classes are shit and unfun, quests, towns, and npcs, all that rpg stuff is still pure shit and dungeons are even worse than the first game. The amazing feats you can perform in combat don't really change much when you go to the desert area, where the game really starts to run out of content. The worst thing of all is that the armor was nerfed so badly into being three shitty slots. Terrible!

The quest design is a little obtuse and you have to constantly revisit old locations if you don't want to miss out on events and quests, also the warrior could use a little more mobility but the first run is fine. It really falls apart in NG+ because it's literally just a victory lap for your powered up character. There is nothing new, nothing you haven't already seen in the first run.

I've been thinking that everything up until now has been just a showcase for the RE engine, and to improve it over time for making all kinds of different games.
Obviously, DD2's and Wilds' performance on the twigs and leaves the computers in the favella are made of haven't done it any service... But I'm still not entirely convinced they aren't going to offer out the engine out to other parties, maybe even license it like Unreal eventually.

It was supposed to be better than 'just good'. I honestly don't mind having to walk to and from places constantly, but the story is ass along with the combat and overall content in general being even more ass. The fact a sequel actively has LESS than what came before it needs to be studied because there isn't even a suitable replacement for what's not there. It's just gone, tough shit. The fact the enemy count is three different types of goblin, saurian, and harpy makes me wonder what the fuck they were doing all this time because it sure as well wasn't giving the game variety.
