I think this game looks sick. Why does it upset the old fans?

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to appreciate Ninja Gaiden. The gameplay is so complex, you’d need a firm understanding of quantum physics just to parse the hitboxes. The hitboxes operate on a subatomic level and the enemy AI patterns are essentially chaotic systems governed by strange attractors. Ryu’s i-frames function like quantum tunneling events, letting him phase through damage in ways that defy classical mechanics. I’m currently developing a unified field theory that explains the Essence economy. But of course, that’s only for those who’ve cleared Path of the Master Ninja without taking Planck-scale damage.

I'd restart on hard since it's more representative of what NG 1 is at the higher modes. The mods are mostly cosmetic with the exception of letting you play Rachel's chapters as Ryu.
For tips, you can hold guard during the recovery frames of most attacks, and if an enemy hits you during that period, Ryu will enter the block stance.

The big difficulty jump in NG1 is from Hard to Very Hard.
Normal to Hard is pretty small and Very Hard to Master Ninja is maybe only slightly bigger.
Hard to Very Hard is pretty huge.

When you see someone who went out of his way to show how cool Ninja Gaiden is on real authentic hardware just to get mocked by "NG fanbase" it proves my point that there is no real fanbase for this franchise. They are Randoms from other spaces clinging to Ninja Gaiden. They've exposed themselves when they mentioned NG2, NG4 will damage NG3RE reputation the most. You have insane NG3RE players doing insane stuff and nobody cares, non of their achievements are celebrated or Recognized. But I do like some good action games, and these are never made by Platinum Games. Never. And so far, people hyped by NG4 on the web seem to be coping more than anything, even though you have a game made by PG and not TN. It's not even about Itagaki's legacy or not anymore, kek. You have a game without ANY known character except a token cameo Ryu who doesn't even have all his weapons, or might, emphasis on might, come later, in a "supposed" DLC. You have no kunoichis when they're clearly part of the universe, have their fans, and fans of their playstyles. You have a level design that absolutely looks like it comes from late game levels of Crash Bandicoot 4 and I'm not even kidding. Jfc.

Because they don't interact with the combat system the game is built around, they just ignore attacks they don't like, their attacks are usually poorly telegraphed, the ones in enclosed spaces give the camera immense grief, and they seem to be designed to be unable to deal with like, 1 attack Ryu has, rendering them trivial. They're pretty much trial and error in that regard compared to the extremely dynamic and freeflowing combat that makes the rest of the game so good. On top of all of that, they aren't even more interesting visually than the common enemies you run in to, most look goofy and aren't satisfying to fight.

Only interesting thing I've seen about this game is the change to guillotine throw. Everything else looks super bland and centered around combo crap.

What is the use case of Flying Swallow in NG3RE? It obviously kicks ass in the first and second game, but in 3RE (Master Ninja) every enemy type can either block or dodge flying swallow very consistently. Do some enemies become vulnerable to it at certain moments? Or is it just kind of terrible
