And fun fact, Square admitted they made the Ethics Committee because Sony (one of the biggest shareholders of SquareEnix) demanded they have one. This was leaked by both the head producer of Dragon Quest and the head producer of Final Fantasy. And Nomura has also made passing comments about "restrictions" on his designs.

But there's even bigger woke alterations than the characters visual designs. Like localization changes and entire story/gameplay elements that had to be changed.
