Because any ending where Pomni leads the circus or whatever and "reforms" the system would be horrible. It would run counter to all of the stuff they set up until now. How they were real Humans before all of this, how they put on a headset, how the company shut down and abandoned the building, how Pomni discovered an abandoned building, which runs a simulation, where people are cartoon characters.

How is just staying in the simulation a happy ending? The only compromise I am willing to accept is if the abstracted people get healed. Or at least better taken care of than being stuck in a dark hole for all eternity. Otherwise it HAS TO end with them escaping the simulation. Everything else is just mistery-porn on either a philosophical level or maybe even on an existential level.

But he is right-wing and he did this to troll and ridicule the "Selbstbestimmungsgesetz", which says that using a person's name, which corresponds to their real gender, before they adopted their fake name or just saying anything in regards to their true gender is a crime.

All of our news media, except for the German equivalent of Fox News, actually called him by his LARP gender, because he announced he would sue any news agency, if they refered to him with the wrong pronouns. He got sued, but only won, because a German court said that in this specific case his "personal rights" didn't weight as highly, because he probably is only pretending to be a woman, so it's acceptable to discuss this case in public.
