I was just about to recommend this. GMDX is pretty sweet. I'm having a rough time using a rifle build though since ammo seems to be more scarce with it than in vanilla, but being able to mantle and having more options to knock out enemies (like rubber bullets) is great.
I also appreciate computers/hacking not needing a single skill investment to solve the game.

The first parts are always the best cause you have to think and play smart or at least thats how they are designed when really the opening of every im sim is just you playing stealth so you can stock up on supplies so by the halfway point you can just play the rest of the game as a shooter cause by then youll have plenty of resources to not worry about it

Why? all of the charm will disappear. Deus Ex is a game trapped in a time capsule and it should stay that way. If you want a different experience then GMDX is something that will change the gameplay up enough is that's what you want.
What we need is the next Jensen game, not a fucking remake. And the next Jensen game was refused to be made at a sales pitch reported in the news this year. I did once replay DX at the height of the pandemic somewhere in 2020 and the game hit me like a truck. When I got to the NY level when there's a curfew and you're shot on sight I just looked at the screen for a while. Hell of a memorable playthrough.

Summer because it barely heats up your computer, it also loads instantly, even the main menu is up as soon as the program starts, no useless parade of logos and this is one thing that would be lost by a remake. Artistically, it just catapults you directly in the game it's so cool.
