there are so many luggages across all the biomes, if you are playing solo you can fill your backpack and hands with tools before the 3rd biome or even before the tropics if you are diligent enough.
i havent yet had a moment where i got fucked by item rng yet, but it did get close when i was climbing the kiln on ascent 6 and i only got bandages and heat packs in 3/4 luggages, but since then they removed useless items like sunscreen from caldera onwards.
if the rng REALLY hates you then there is a wealth of shelf fungi and magic beans to collect on the map that never change position until the entire island changes.

there is no reason for this game to run so poorly for how it looks. i dont think its unreasonable to expect a 3060 Ti to be able to run a game like this at 4k120Hz locked, but i had to use resolution scaling so its basically just 1080p and even then its jumping around all the way from 30 to 120 fps all the time. the game could very easily run on way worse hardware but devs nowadays dont give a shit and expect people to just bruteforce performance issues with better hardware.

another thing i i would like to see would be check points or a save system.
my friend group is averaging 2 hours per run, sometimes 2 and a half hours. that can sometimes be too much to commit to for some people. if you could save at camp, you could pick up the next day. i get that the seeds get rerolled each day but i dont see why i shouldnt be able to finish a run from an older seed.

It's a genuinely fun game to do a run of once a day. Doing more than that would feel a bit samey due to the terrain, though. Either way they got their first major update out pretty quick so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw 2 more by the end of the year to keep it fresh.

I have never had trouble with the first part of masa. it actually feels more doable than alpine ever was, but the one time I got stung by scorpions was brutal

The mesa climb is the only one I consistently have trouble with, most of the times I can't find a good route and have to brute force it with candy or other items

i think it is seed dependent, there was a mesa sandwiched between two alpine days last week that had 3 tornadoes constantly and could even have 4 at once, it was easily the most brutal part of the run and many people posted about it everywhere. nowadays only a single tornado may show up occassionally.

if you have a medkit, and someone is more than 20% hurt (or even less), don't gamble on bandages or making it across, HEAL THEM because healing items are in every 2nd luggage apparently, and also medkits weigh 2 so might as well get rid of them.

i just did it today with no items, i used a rope cannon and one dose of lollipop + energy but it was so i could rush the heli. i guarantee i spotted routes where you can do it raw.
tip: press space and then hold shift midair as opposed to doing normal sprint-jumps, you will go like 95% as far but only pay the stamina cost of a normal jump.
