I've been playing Digimon World 1. I think I'm doing something wrong when it comes to building my Digimon's stats. Monsters hanging around the island are fine prey but my guys are struggling to compete in the arena.
Currently I've got Angemon. I throw him in the arena and the first fight is with a Meramon whose got almost twice the stat value in most categories. Angemon's a pretty damn good fighter and hung in there for a long time but there was just no way he was gonna get that fucker's health down fast enough.

short answer: fun
long answer: somehow the most well balanced of the DS era stories games, Lunamon and Coronamon are great mascots, the digital world cities are great, the team leaders are charismatic and seeing Ophanimon and ChaosGallantmon go missing and turn evil was a nice little arc, the story with Grimmon is fun enough even if you never played Digimon World DS. Areas are good and the amount of depth they put into shit like secret quests juxtaposed with the little amount of effort they put into literally any side character besides Koh, Sayo, and the Team Leaders or the entire quest and tournament system is jarring. That being said, the Platinum Tamer quest and Legendary Tamer quest is great, though you can't do Legendary without connecting to another game. Oh, that's also another great point, the connectivity was awesome and linking and creating eggs was great. The Digifarm was absurdly OP. Digimon Sprites were some of the best ever made (and a couple of the worst, I'll never forgive them for what they did to Gallantmon). Biggest flaw was definitely running into wild digimon every 3 steps. Oh also Dusk blatantly had more content making Dawncucks undisputed losers. Overall it was a really fun game and had a ton of replayability with I think like 600 digimon. MOGS the fuck out of Digimon World DS and Lost Evolution.

Digital Card Battle. Small grind, interesting power curve and many different playstyles to play.

The story games system gets repetitive fast. Cyber Sleuth/Hackers memory included. Older ones like Dawn/Dusk are retardedly grindy and basically function on single player MMO logic.

The Digimon World 1 games are fucking grindy if you do not know EXACTLY what you are doing and you only really have any sort of real freedom once you have an Ultimate/Perfect level

The fighting games are full of cheese the AI isnt equipped to handle and are fairly simplistic.

The kart racing and strategy games arent worth discussing.

From what they showed so far, almost all of the returning digimon will have reused attack/win pose animations unfortunately, but with improved special effects. Although a few digimon have new animations like Hagurumon, or new attacks like Minervamon/Dianamon. Ulforceveedramon has a new animation but I don't know if it's a new attack or just a new animation

Having just done a 100% playthrough of HM half the story missions are just side quests that have zero bearing to what is actually happening in the main story while the other half meanders until Ryuji hits his breaking point. We constantly follow the occult kids, they bring up the mysterious walking EDEN guy like three times, have people regularly commenting on yelling coming from Erika's room basically every other chapter, have Chitose's flirting happen until he finally gets over it with the hacker chick, Date's panties become Niagara Falls whenever Ryuji is involved, femboy does next to nothing outside of flirt with Keisuke or complain Keisuke isn't thinking about him until the story calls for it, and nothing at all is explained about anything happening in CS despite it being a mandatory part of understanding HM's story.

HM's story is structured to be all over the place while focusing on a lot of odd things with filler everywhere.

Digimon Adventure was comfy like being in 1999 again. Only problem is the late game bosses and even regular enemies became damage sponges. Starting with Venomvamdemon. Him, Piedmon and Apocalymon you pour in max 255 str hits and their hp bar barely fucking moves.

4 is kind of a fascinating game to talk about, because it really is a straight 4/10.

Adventure is a solid show that has roughly three major acts that all feel like they naturally stitch together.
Movie 1 is incredible.
Movie 2 is awesome.
Adventure 02 is all over the place as a show with the entire Cthulhu segment coming out of nowhere, armor forms immediately becoming jobbers, and Takeru/Hikari jobbing all show. Ken is the best part of it as a character and Miyako is best girl.
Movie 3 is whatever, the best part is essentially the last 10-20 minutes at best.
Movie 4 is trying to hard to be movie 2 but I don't dislike it, however I do feel like Paladin Mode is not even remotely as cool as Omegamon.
Tamers is good up until the Devas, the Devas and Digital World are pure unadulterated boring filler with the worst of it being Vikaralamon until right before they leave the Digital World (With the exception being each of the kids gaining their Matoricks Ebolyushyon), and then it's solid the rest of the way once Dukemon appears.
