We already saw with the game's activity peak that the masses get access to this thing, play it, and soon enough find out that don't like it and then it drops off. NTA but I think Smite's Arena mode and most HotS maps hit a very good balance of ASSFAGGOTS gameplay with power progression without having to rely on a long laning phase. Which isn't me saying they should butcher Deadlock's map/main game mode, just that I hope Valve is willing to have alternate game modes. I played like 20x more matches of Arena in Smite than I did Conquest, just because it was more fun. I, and many others left, because it's a DOTA clone before being an actual shooter. I fucking hate DOTA and ASSFAGGOT games in general. I was hoping Valve would at least be able to make something interesting, but it's basically the same shit many other studios have tried and failed. Third person DOTA is something nobody asked for and it shows by the fact that it had sub 20k players until the recent patch. It's now lost a third of it's most recent peak and is back to around 40k. It will very likely be sub 20k again in a month.

While 20k players isn't bad, it's sort of a joke when the biggest storefront in the world can only muster a 20k playerbase for a game they themselves made and can advertise freely. Yes, it's not released, but I doubt much will change. Maybe you'll have 30k players instead. Anyone who actually wanted to try it has already tried it. The game will likely fizzle out after a few years and be put on life support because there's no demand for it. Zoomers don't play ASSFAGGOTS other than maybe LoL at most and even that game is dying outside of the chinklands. Face it, Deadlock is a failure in the making. DOTA is a shit franchise and has already spawned two failure spin-offs. This will be the third... or the turd, heh

It'd be useful just for PvE (freely dive under the guardian or walker) and you can easily use it to troll during the chaos of a team fight. I don't care how aware you are, you'll get confused by which Infernus is yours and which is a disguised Spy in the middle of a clusterfuck. Spy's disguise doesn't actually fall off from taking damage, so it'd be more than enough for him to slip up behind somebody and get a Backstab.
