I was immensely disappointed, when I learned that Total Wagh Warhammer doesn't have a similar magic system to Dominions 6. Your "buff" spells are literally something like +10% damage for 20 seconds on max. 3 units. And because of the attack animation the effect is basically my soldiers doing 12 damage for two hits and then going back to 11 damage. It's extremely lame. Buff spells suck. You can't do anything cool with it. Only damage spells are really useful to snipe lords or monsters or to get rid of masses of trash quickly.

Yeah no that is indeed a huge problem. Buff/debuff spells are almost always worthless, with the one rather comedic exception of spam triggering the lore's passive, as the buff/debuff spells are usually way cheaper and faster to cast than the big ones.

IIRC buffs and debuffs are more useful in MP battles where the unit stats aren't buffed by lords and campaign modifiers, or where you're not guaranteed massive vortex spell hits on 5+ blobs of units that your LL is facetanking without losing any health

I haven't played much TW3, are there any factions that are good for cheesy, unconventional or solo lord campaigns? I remember playing a lord of Bretonnia without recruiting any units in TW2, you can just spam lords and the autoresolve is really reluctant to kill lords so you get heroic victories (and chivalry) like crazy by spamming basic 250 upkeep lords.
